Today is National Fentanyl Prevention and Awareness Day — a day to memorialize the countless lives cut short by fentanyl overdoses and redouble efforts to address this crisis. I'm proud that my resolution to recognize this day unanimously passed the Senate earlier this month.

On the ten-year anniversary of journalist James Foley’s brutal murder by ISIS, I’m announcing a bipartisan resolution to honor his life and legacy and recognize @JamesFoleyFund’s vital work to advocate for the release of Americans taken captive abroad. https://twitter.com/SenatorShaheen/status/1825595853308121261?s=19

🚌As Granite Staters head #BackToSchool, I was thrilled to join local leaders and educators in Concord to celebrate more than $33 million that I helped secure through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law for 11 Granite State school districts to supply new, clean school buses.

Big news today – Americans will now save billions on their needed medications, treating diseases like diabetes, heart disease and cancer. We’ve fought for years to negotiate the price of prescription drugs, and now it will save lives in New Hampshire and across the country. https://twitter.com/SenatorShaheen/status/1824130644873449509?s=19

Today marks the somber three-year anniversary of the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan. Since that day, the Taliban has violently oppressed women, girls and other at-risk populations. The U.S. and international community must hold the Taliban accountable for their crimes.

I was thrilled to join community members for the groundbreaking of a new net-zero housing development in Hudson this morning. These new energy-efficient units will help address the housing shortage while saving homeowners money on their utility bills for years to come.

Glad to see @dartmouth was awarded federal funding as part of the Biden-Harris Administration's Cancer Moonshot. Over the next 7 years, Dartmouth Engineering will lead a $31.3 million project from @ARPA_H to develop new precision tech for treating several types of cancer. https://twitter.com/SenatorShaheen/status/1823798003091787814?s=19

Today in 1935, the Social Security Act was signed into law—enshrining what has been the anchor of financial security for millions of retired Americans. I'll always protect Social Security for Granite States who’ve worked hard all their lives and earned these benefits.

Great to see @POTUS working to lower housing costs for Americans by streamlining regulations and lowering financing costs to build more housing in our communities. Supporting local efforts to increase the housing supply is key to combatting the housing affordability crisis in NH. https://twitter.com/SenatorShaheen/status/1823436583422275820?s=19

Stalling ambassador confirmations for partisan reasons undermines our national security and leaves the US vulnerable to adversaries like China, Russia and Iran. We must fill these posts immediately so that we can continue to prioritize diplomatic engagement around the world. https://twitter.com/SenatorShaheen/status/1823413462229233671?s=19
