We just stumbled upon a house that feels like it’s been pulled straight out of a daydream. Casacor — the São Paulo-based design studio founded in 2015 — has truly outdone themselves with their latest project, spanning 2,000 m². Designed for a young couple and their daughter (plus all their friends, family, and anyone who just loves a great invite), the home is all about warmth and openness. The concept? Seamlessly blending nature and architecture — case in point, a garden wall that flows right into one of the interior rooms. That one’s definitely our favorite. Everything works: the flood of natural light, the muted color palette, the private pool area, the minimalist approach to the home’s main structure. Built in 1935, this historic building has witnessed pivotal moments: it was here, in 1945, that the Dutch-German Peace Treaty was signed. Decades later, the space was reborn as an astonishingly beautiful cinema, preserving its legacy while embracing a bold new chapter. This architectural revival was carefully orchestrated to honor the building’s authenticity while adapting it for modern use. After several years of meticulous restoration, Visum Mundi now screens everything from beloved classics to arthouse films by independent directors, all within thoughtfully designed, cozy auditoriums. Tickets range from €10 to €15, depending on the screening and seating choice.
