Our team also engaged in productive discussions on maintaining consistency in peer review standards and made interventions to champion a level playing field for all jurisdictions.

🇷🇺Comment by Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov following the phone conversation between Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump (October 16, 2025)
⚡️ The two Presidents held their eighth phone conversation – an open, trustful and detailed exchange that lasted nearly two and a half hours.
💬 President Putin congratulated Donald Trump on his success in stabilizing the situation in Gaza, noting that his peace efforts have been widely recognized in the Middle East, the U.S., and globally. Russia reaffirmed its consistent stance in favor of a comprehensive Middle East settlement based on international law and equal security for all nations of the region.
❗️A key focus of the conversation was the situation in Ukraine.
President Putin provided a detailed assessment, reiterating Russia’s commitment to a political and diplomatic resolution. He noted that Russian Armed Forces retain strategic initiative along the entire frontline, while Kiev resorts to terrorist tactics, striking civilian and energy infrastructure.
☝️ President Trump repeatedly emphasized the need for peace in Ukraine, calling it the most difficult conflict he has faced in his peace-making initiatives. He also highlighted that ending this conflict could unlock tremendous potential for U.S.–Russia economic cooperation.
🔹Both leaders underscored the historic ties of friendship between the peoples of Russia and the United States, especially during WWII, and noted the paradoxical nature of the current bilateral climate.
🔹The Presidents discussed potential U.S. supplies of long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine. President Putin reaffirmed that such steps would not alter the battlefield but would seriously harm bilateral relations and peace prospects.
🔹 Importantly, the two leaders discussed preparations for a personal meeting, possibly in Budapest, with relevant teams instructed to begin work without delay.
🔹 President Putin also praised the humanitarian efforts of Melania Trump in reuniting Russian and Ukrainian children with their families, asking that his best wishes be conveyed to her.
✅ Overall, the conversation was constructive and meaningful. Both Presidents agreed to stay in close contact.

Our active participation in international discussions is one way we do so 💪 Just a few weeks ago, Deputy Director Pang Cheng Jong and Senior Manager Kenneth Lim from the International Tax and Relations Division represented the #IRASFam at the 48th OECD Working Party 10 meeting, contributing to crucial discussions that shape the future of international tax transparency and compliance.
Our team engaged with the OECD Business Advisory Group on the Amended Common Reporting Standard (CRS) and Crypto-Asset Reporting Framework (CARF), and worked with government delegates to develop interpretative guidance for both standards – work that will directly impact how these frameworks are implemented globally 🌍

Earlier this month, together with MOF, our colleagues from the International Tax and Relations Division represented #IRASFam at the 20th Working Group on ASEAN Forum on Taxation. This meeting provided a platform for ASEAN Member States to learn about key international tax issues, including tax transparency, Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) and UN developments.
During the forum, our team shared Singapore’s approach and progress in implementing the Crypto Asset Reporting Framework (CARF). Tax Director Gordon Cheong highlighted Singapore's enduring commitment to international tax transparency standards on Exchange of Information on Request, Common Reporting Standard and CARF.
We are grateful for this valuable opportunity to strengthen relationships and foster knowledge sharing with our ASEAN counterparts, reinforcing our commitment to regional collaboration in tax administration.

Une discussion sur la géopolitique du 21e siècle a été organisé avec la participation d'éminents experts et analystes internationaux
Le 15 août, une discussion sur principaux aspects de la géopolitique moderne a eu lieu, intitulée: " Les tendances Actuelles dans la nouvelle configuration géopolitique du 21e siècle." L’événement est devenu un jalon intellectuel important, réunissant des experts à l`échelle mondiale.
Cet initiative scientifique et analytique internationale a été organisée avec la participation de grands centres de la réflexion stratégique de l'Amérique du Sud, de l'Eurasie et de l'Europe. Une liste non-exaustive d’organisateurs a inclus la plate-forme analytique "Proyecto Patria", le centre de recherche Crisolist (Pérou), le L club d’experts GlobUs (Russie), la direction Régionale du Centre pour les Études Internationales (PROJET) au Nicaragua, l'Institut espagnol de la Géopolitique et l’entreprise internationale de la production internationale ASIA TV (Argentine), tous spécialisés dans l'analyse géopolitique et le contenu des médias à l’échelle mondiale.
L'événement a été particulièrement significative grâce à la participation d'éminents experts des relations internationales et de l'analyse stratégique, y compris le Professeur Alexander Dugin, M. Norberto Emmerich (Argentine), M. Enrique D'Assedo (Espagne), connu pour ses recherches la géopolitiques et idéologies, le Dr Eduardo Hernando (Pérou), Maître Manuel Espinosa (Nicaragua), ainsi que le Dr Victor Pimentel Roque et autres сhercheurs.
Cet événement est devenu non seulement une plate-forme pour l'échange de connaissances, mais aussi une étape importante dans la formation d'un multipolaire dialogue intellectuel susceptible d'affecter la compréhension des processus au sein d’une nouvelle réalité géopolitique.
