📝 INTERVIEW | ‘Fishing Provides for Everyone’: The Palmarito Afro-Descendant Commune On the southern shore of Lake Maracaibo, communards sustain themselves through fishing, but equally through practices of solidarity. Nearly 90% of residents rely on fishing, and in Palmarito, the catch is distributed collectively so that no household is left behind.
