🔰Present perfect simple or progressive (continuous) الفرق بين الزمن المضارع التام البسيط و المستمر 1⃣ Non-progressive verbs الافعال غير المستمرة Some verbs are not used in progressive forms, even if the meaning is one for which a progressive form is more suitable. Common examples are be, have and know. بعض الافعال لا يمكن استخدامها في صيغة المستمر حتى و إن كان معنى الجملة يتطلب ذلك و من أمثلة هذه الافعال be, have, know: ✨Jack's been ill all week. ✨She’s had a cold since Monday. (not She’s been having a cold ...)✘ ✨I’ve only known her for two days. (not I’ve only been knowing her ... )✘ 2⃣ Temporary or permanent أحداث مؤقتة أم ثابتة و دائمة🤔 We use progressive forms mostly for shorter, temporary actions and situations. When we talk about longer-lasting or permanent situations we often prefer the simple present perfect. نستخدم صيغة المستمر من هذا الزمن للتعبير عن الاحداث القصيرة في مدتها أو مؤقتة. أما إذا كانت عكس ذلك فنستخدم صيغة التام البسيط. لاحظ الامثلة و قارن بينها: 🤔Compare: 🔹I’ve been playing the piano all afternoon, and I’m really tired. ◽My grandmother has played the piano since she was a little girl. 🔹I haven’t been working very well recently. ◽He hasn’t worked for years. 🔹I’ve been living at Emma’s place for the last month. ◽My parents have lived in Bristol all their lives. 🔻Progressive and simple tenses are sometimes both possible, with a slight difference of emphasis. 🔻يمكن استخدام الزمنين في بعض الحالات مع اختلاف بسيط من حيث التأكيد على معنى الجملة. ✨It’s been raining/It's rained steadily since last Saturday. ✨Harry has been working/has worked in the same job for thirty years. 🔻We generally use the progressive to talk about continuous change or development, even if this is permanent. 🔻عادة ما تُستخدم صيغة المستمر للتعبير عن تغيّر أو تطوّر في الحدث حتى لو كان بشكل دائم. ✨Scientists believe that the universe has been expanding steadily since the beginning of time. 3⃣ How much? how often? simple present perfect We use the simple present perfect to say how much we have done, or how often we have done something. نستخدم الزمن المضارع التام البسيط للحديث عن مقدار ممارستنا لفعل ما أو كم مرة نمارس هذا الفعل. قارن: 🤔Compare: 🔹I’ve been planting rose bushes all afternoon. ◽Look at all the rose bushes I’ve planted. ( not ... I’ve been planting. )✘ 🔹We’ve been painting the house. ◽We’ve painted two rooms since lunch time. (not We’ve been painting...)✘ 🔹I've been playing a lot of tennis recently. ◽I’ve played tennis three times this week. @EnglishGrammarSecrets

🔰Present Perfect Continuous tense 🔰الزمن المضارع التام المستمر This tense is used to talk about an action or actions that started in the past and continued until recently or that continue into the future: غالباً يستخدم هذا الزمن للتعبير عن أحداث بدأت في الماضي و استمرت الى الحاضر أو قد تستمر الى المستقبل 🔻We can use it to refer to an action that has finished but you can still see evidence. 🔻يستخدام كذلك للتعبير عن حدث انتهى في الماضي و لكن ما زلنا نرى دلائله و آثاره في الوقت الحاضر 🔹🅰️: You look hot. 🅱️: Yes, I’ve been running. 🔹Sorry I'm late. Have you been waiting long? 🔹I must just go and wash. I’ve been gardening. 🔹Oh, the kitchen is a mess. Who has been cooking? 🔹You look tired. Have you been sleeping properly? 🔹I’ve got a stiff neck. I’ve been working too long on computer. 🔻It can refer to an action that has not finished. 🔻و يمكن كذلك استخدامه للتعبير عن حدث غير مكتمل أي بدأ في الماضي و لا زال مستمر الى الحاضر و قد يستمر الى المستقبل 🔹I’ve been learning Spanish for 20 years and I still don’t know very much. 🔹I’ve been waiting for him for 30 minutes and he still hasn’t arrived. 🔹He’s been telling me about it for days. I wish he would stop. 🔻Repeated actions 🔻أحداث متكررة We can use the present perfect continuous not only for continuous activity, but also for repeated activity. 🔹People have been phoning me all day. 🔹I’ve been waking up in the night a lot. I think I’ll see the doctor. 🔹She’s been writing to her regularly for a couple of years. 🔹He’s been phoning me all week for an answer. 🔹The university has been sending students here for over twenty years to do work experience. 🔻The present perfect continuous is often used with words that refer to a period of time continuing up to now, like ‘since’, ‘for’, ‘all week’, ‘for days’, ‘lately’, ‘recently’, ‘over the last few months’, ‘for the last (three) days’ ...etc 🔻الكلمات الدالة عليه👆🏻 🔹I’ve been wanting to do that for ten years. 🔹You haven’t been getting good results over the last few months. 🔹They haven’t been workingall week. They’re on strike 🔹He hasn’t been talking to me forweeks. 🔹We’ve been working hard on it forages. 🔹The company has been losing money recently. 🔹Jack's been walking in Scotland all this week. 🔹I’ve been doing a new job since January. 🔹It’s been raining forthe last three days. @EnglishGrammarSecrets

🔰The Present Perfect tense 🔰الزمن المضارع التام 🔻Finished events connected with the present 🔻أحداث مكتملة و مرتبطة بالحاضر We use the present perfect especially to say that a finished action or event is connected with the present in some way. If we say that something has happened, we are thinking about the past and the present at the same time, for example if we are giving news. 🔹I can’t go skiing because I have broken my leg. ✨A present-perfect sentence often corresponds to a present-tense sentence expressing the same facts. ✨جملة الزمن المضارع التام عادة تكون متوافقة مع جملة الزمن المضارع البسيط من حيث التعبير عن الحقائق ذاتها. 🔹I've broken my leg. 👉🏻 My leg is broken now. 🔹Some fool has let the cat in. 👉🏻 The cat is in. 🔹Utopia has invaded Fantasia. 👉🏻 Utopia is at war with Fantasia. 🔹Emily has had a baby. 👉🏻 Emily now has a baby. 🔹Our dog has died. 👉🏻 Our dog is dead. 🔹Have you read Hamlet? 👉🏻Do you know Hamlet? 🔹All the wars in history have taught us nothing. 👉🏻 We know nothing. ✨The present perfect is often used to express the idea of completion or achievement. ✨يستخدم الزمن المضارع التام عادة للتعبير عن فكرة اكتمال الحدث أو إنجازه بشكل تام. 🔹At last! I’ve finished! 🔹Have you done all the housework? ✨We do not use the present perfect if we are not thinking about the present. ✨تذكر دائماً أننا لا نستخدم المضارع التام اذا كنّا نقصد بحديثنا عن الحاضر! لاحظ الأمثلة و قارن بينها: 🤔Compare: 🔹I've travelled in Africa a lot. (= I know Africa.) 🔹Some people think that Shakespeare travelled a lot in Germany. ( not Some people think that Shakespeare has travelled ...)✘ 🔻Time words: ever, before, recently, etc 🔻الكلمات الدالة على الزمن المضارع التام When we talk about finished events with words that mean 'at some/any time up to now’ (like ever, before, never, yet, recently, lately, already), we normally use the present perfect in British English. 🔹Have you ever seen a ghost? 🔹She's never said ‘sorry' in her life. 🔹I’m sure we've met before. 🔹Has Dan phoned yet? 🔹We haven't seen Beth recently. 🔹‘Could you clean the car?’ ‘I’ve already done it.’ 🔻Repetition up to now: 🔻تكرار الحدث إلى الوقت الحاضر ✨We can use the present perfect to say that something has happened several times up to the present. 🔹I’ve written six emails since lunch time. ✨Adverbs of frequency like often, sometimes, occasionally are common with the present perfect. 🔹How often have you read a novel in your life? 🔹I’ve sometimes thought of moving to Australia. 🔻Continuation up to now: 🔻استمرارية الحدث إلى الوقت الحاضر ✨To talk about actions and situations that have continued up to the present, both the simple present perfect and the present perfect progressive are possible (depending on the kind of verb and the exact meaning.) ✨يستخدم كلاً من الزمنين المضارع التام البسيط والمضارع التام المستمر للحديث عن مواقف بدأت في الماضي واستمرت إلى الحاضر(حسب نوع الفعل والمعنى المقصود.) 🔹I've known her for years. (not I know her for years.)✘ 🔹I’ve been thinking about you all day. @EnglishGrammarSecrets

🔰Regular verbs All new verbs in English are regular. ✨I photocopied the report. ✨She faxed it to me. ✨They emailed everybody about it. ✨I googled my name and got more than 20,000 responses. 🔰Irregular verbs There are approximately 180 irregular verbs. You don’t need to learn all of them because some of these are very rare but many others are very useful and you do need to know them. What’s the easiest way to learn them? Some people think you should learn a list ‘by heart’. Others think you should not learn them at all – you will just gradually acquire them over time. One useful method is to note down new irregular verbs as you meet them. It is useful to write these verbs (or any vocabulary you want to learn) in sentences and learn those rather than the individual word. 🔻Which is easier to learn?🤔 ✨Swim swam swum ✨I swam In the pool. Another technique is to classify the irregular verbs into 4 categories. 1️⃣All forms the same: 🔸set set set 🔸cost cost cost 2️⃣Similar sound groups 🔹beat beat beaten 🔹eat ate eaten 🔹blow blew blown 🔹throw threw thrown 🔹drink drank drunk 🔹sing sang sung 🔹speak spoke spoken 🔹wake woke woken 3️⃣The second and third forms are the same. ◽️bend bent bent ◽️sleep slept slept ◽️spend spent spent ◽️bring brought brought ◽️buy bought bought ◽️teach taught taught ◽️have had had ◽️pay paid paid ◽️say said said 4️⃣The “unclassifiables” ♦️come came come ♦️do did done ♦️go went gone ♦️show showed show @EnglishGrammarSecrets
