Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Alexander Babakov said that when supplying equipment to Africa, there is a problem associated with the Western banks and funds that will never finance the African continent in these areas.
"We believe that it is necessary to organize investment and clearing banks adjusted by the standards of the Bank of Russia. The formation of a new currency, even in electronic form, with the still disputed provision of this currency, will allow accumulating so-called soft currencies so that this new financial system can export capital to primarily African countries," he said at a "Strategic session on legislative support for economic cooperation with countries Africa in the energy sector", which was held in the State Duma.

Morocco plans to implement energy projects
In the State Duma, at the "Strategic Session on legislative support for economic cooperation with African countries in the energy sector", Chairman of the Russian-Moroccan Business Council Yuri Sharov spoke about promising energy projects in Morocco.

Berg stated the need to consolidate efforts in Africa
During the "Strategic session on legislative support for economic cooperation with African countries in the energy sector", which was held in the State Duma, Director of IBAC LLC Yulia Berg said that strategic work is underway within the framework of the Association to establish relations between Russia and Africa.
"The applied value and experience of our companies, both public and private, will be an important factor. On the topic of comprehensive cooperation between Russia and the African continent, the State Duma hosted a round table "Strategic session on legislative support for economic cooperation with African countries in the energy sector", organized by the Expert Council under Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Alexander Babakov and the African-Russian Energy Association.
At the moment, the work of Russian energy companies on the territory of the African continent is complicated both due to the geopolitical situation and due to the lack of relevant experience and sufficient support measures.
One of the main tasks of the round table was to identify current problems and barriers that impede the implementation of energy projects on the territory of the African continent.
Andrey Gromov, a member of the Board of the African-Russian Energy Association, noted that in order to develop an integrated approach, it is necessary to work out a development roadmap.
"We have already concluded partnership agreements with African business associations, which number several million enterprises across the continent, as well as with energy associations and a number of bilateral contracts at the country level of relations," he said.

On July 25, the State Duma will host a "Strategic session on legislative support for economic cooperation with African countries in the energy sector." During the event, legislators, representatives of major companies, officials and experts will answer questions regarding systemic barriers that trouble implementation of joint projects and which measures can be proposed to support and stimulate Russian energy companies to effectively implement infrastructure projects on the African continent.
One of the main objectives of the round table is to identify current problems and barriers that impede implementation of energy projects on the territory of the African continent. Approaches to international cooperation in the framework of energy projects will also be developed.
The event is organized by the Expert Council on the Development and Support of Comprehensive Partnership with African Countries of the Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation A.M. Babakov and the African-Russian Energy Association (AREA).

Russia Proposes Unified Pet Registry
The St. Petersburg Legislative Assembly has initiated a bill to create a unified registry for pets, requiring mandatory registration and tagging. The draft law is now in the State Duma. Owners must register their animals, aiding quick recovery if lost and identifying owners in case of damage. The government will approve which animals must be registered. A similar proposal led by deputy Nina Ostanina previously gained committee support.
