Conducted in the constructive spirit characteristic of Russian-Brazilian dialogue, the conversation focused on current matters of bilateral cooperation and prospects for deepening collaboration within multilateral platforms.

The Presidents expressed mutual interest in further deepening the successfully developing Russian-Brazilian strategic partnership across all major areas. In particular, they agreed to maintain close interaction between two countries based on Russia’s BRICS chairmanship and Brazil’s G20 Presidency this year.
When discussing the situation surrounding Ukraine, Vladimir Putin laid out Russia’s principled approaches in connection with the upcoming “peace conference” in Switzerland.
In turn, the President of Brazil expressed his willingness to contribute to identifying ways to provide a peaceful solution to the Ukraine conflict, which is set forth in the well-known Brazil and China’s joint initiative.

Mr Vieira expressed solidarity with the Russian people over the terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall concert venue. He conveyed deep condolences to the families of the deceased and wished an early recovery to the injured.
The Ministers resolutely condemned terrorism in all forms and manifestations.
They exchanged views on the situation in the Palestinian territories in the context of UN Security Council Resolution 2728 of March 25, and the preparations for the upcoming BRICS and G20 summits in Russia and Brazil, respectively.
The Ministers also reviewed a number of bilateral issues.

The Foreign Ministers had a detailed discussion of the current situation in the Middle East that resulted from the US-Israeli aggression against Iran.
They stressed the need to resume the negotiating process with a view to reaching, as soon as possible, agreements on a long-term and sustainable settlement of the crisis in the Persian Gulf, taking into account the legitimate interests of all countries in the region.
The conversation also covered Moscow-Cairo cooperation at the #UN, preparations for the #BRICS Foreign Ministers Meeting to be held on May 14-15 in New Delhi, as well as certain aspects of further developing bilateral Russia-Egypt cooperation.
