⚡Russian Mission hosts a reception on the occasion of the Diplomat’s Day 🗓 On 12 February 2025, on the occasion of the Diplomat’s Day in Russia, the Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation to the EU and Euratom hosted a reception for the diplomatic corps of the World Majority countries accredited in Brussels. The event brought together heads of missions and senior diplomats from around 40 countries, representatives of international and regional organisations (Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, League of Arab States, United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East) as well as Secretary General of the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States. 💬 In his welcoming address, Chargé d’Affaires a.i. of the Russian Mission to the EU and Euratom Karen Malayan noted: “Today, the question of how international relations will be shaped in the future is more pressing than ever. The Russian diplomacy, in cooperation with our friends and partners, continues to make a genuine contribution not to some “transactional reality” but to the formation of a multipolar world order based on equality, mutual respect and consideration for every country's historical, cultural and civilizational heritage.” In the context of the 2025 celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the guests had an opportunity to view the photo exhibition “Diplomacy and the Great Patriotic War” displayed at the Permanent Mission. The event brought together a distinguished audience, including foreign ambassadors, diplomats, business representatives, and members of the Russian diaspora in Singapore. H.E. Nikolay Kudashev, Ambassador of Russia to Singapore, opened the evening with a speech, highlighting that this year’s celebration coincides with a significant milestone – the 80th anniversary of the United Nations and the 80th anniversary of the end of the Second World War and the Great Patriotic War. In his remarks, Ambassador Kudashev noted that the Russian Federation presents to the peoples of Eurasia its vision of continental security that would replace the failed Euro-Atlantic layout and would be grounded on the principle “regional problems require regional solutions”. During the reception, a congratulatory address from Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov was broadcast.
