⚡Gazprom Neft experts estimate Russian airlines’ costs for covering emissions Starting from 2027, Russian airlines will spend tens of millions of dollars annually on purchasing carbon credits to comply with international CO₂ emission regulations. These costs are expected to grow alongside increasing passenger traffic. Purchasing carbon credits is one of the available options for airlines to meet CORSIA requirements. An alternative is the use of low-carbon SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel), which is currently not produced at industrial scale in Russia. To meet carbon neutrality requirements: ✅ in 2027, airlines will need 0.5 million tons of SAF to offset 1 million tons of CO₂ equivalent ✅ by 2030, 0.6 million tons of SAF will be required to offset 1.3 million tons of CO₂ equivalent ✅ by 2035, demand will reach 1.1 million tons of SAF to offset 2.4 million tons of CO₂ equivalent More details. #Russia
