🇳🇬💸📌2025 Budget: N13trn deficit to be financed through borrowing – Finance minister 📌 World Bank Approves $1.57 Billion Loan for Nigeria to support its health and education sectors and help provide sustainable power. The World Bank is the largest lender to Nigeria, with more than $15 billion in loans at the end of March, data from the Debt Management Office showed. 📌 Total Nigeria debt increased by N24.33 trillion in Q1 2024 according to the Debt Management Office (DMO) a result of a combination of fresh borrowing and naira devaluation. We have some questions 1. Who is going to pay for all these loans? (Rhetorical question) 2. Were the reasons for the previous loans achieved? For example, did the health and education sectors see improvements or did we see sustainable power or improved security? 3. Can we still call Nigeria a truly sovereign nation if we are so indebted to the "very generous" World bank? 4. How can we forge foreign relations in our interests with other nations including those that the World Bank do not like?
