A new legal case in Massachusetts brings AI and academic integrity into the spotlight. The parents of a student, identified as RNH, are suing his school after he was punished for using AI to assist with a Social Studies project. RNH admitted to using AI for research purposes, but the school penalized him with a lower grade and a Saturday detention, arguing that it violated their AI policy. His parents claim the punishment could cause "irreparable harm" to his college admissions prospects, especially with deadlines approaching.
The school's policy, shared with students at the start of the academic year, explicitly forbids the use of AI tools in assignments unless specifically permitted. RNH's parents, however, argue that the school's actions are disproportionate and want the student’s record cleared and his project grade adjusted. The school has filed a motion to dismiss, stating that RNH’s actions were unfair and violated the rules. Unless a settlement is reached, the court will decide the outcome later this month. The case could set a precedent for how schools handle AI use by students in the future.

In response to the Biden administration's push for safer AI development, the U.S. Commerce Department has proposed new reporting rules targeting developers of advanced AI models and those operating the infrastructure needed to train them. The proposed rules, released following an executive order aimed at ensuring "Safe, Secure, and Trustworthy Development and Use of Artificial Intelligence," will require entities to report on AI models exceeding specific computational thresholds.
These rules are designed to address concerns that cutting-edge AI models could potentially be misused for cybercrime or even to develop weapons of mass destruction if not properly regulated. Additionally, infrastructure operators will need to report on their compute clusters' capabilities, particularly those surpassing 300Gbit/sec in networking capacity or 1020 floating point operations per second for AI training.

Попробовала сделать в Midjourney очень стильный эффект — Motion Blur 💔
Делается просто, при написании промпта важно соблюдать 3 пункта:
1. В начале добавляем panning shot / panning photography
2. Далее после описания объекта добавляем motion blur / motion blur effect / blurred motion
3. Самое главное — промпт должен быть коротким, иначе фокус генерации будет на деталях, а не на motion blur

Как генерировать фото из Pinterest в Midjourney?
Я часто нахожу классные фото в Pinterest, которые хочется использовать в проекте. Но есть два больших но: авторские права и плохое качество.
Так что делюсь инструкцией:
1. Скачиваем понравившуюся картинку из Pinterest
2. Вводим команду /describe в Midjourney и загружаем фото с компьютера
3. Копируем URL ссылку на картинку
4. Выбираем один из промптов, которое предлагает Midjourney, добавляем к нему --sref [url] --cref [url] --cw 100
5. Получаем реалистичную и стильную картинку как из Pinterest!
