🎙Media statements by Russia's President Vladimir Putin following Russian-Indonesian talks(June 19, 2025) 💬Vladimir Putin: Mr President, ladies and gentlemen. It is with great pleasure that we welcome the President of the Republic of Indonesia to Russia. President Prabowo Subianto’s official visit coincides with his participation in the St Petersburg International Economic Forum. We are grateful to the President for accepting our invitation and for his forthcoming address at tomorrow’s Forum plenary session, which this year is dedicated to the theme “Shared Values as the Foundation of Growth in a Multipolar World.” Mr President visited Russia on multiple occasions, including during his tenure as the Minister of Defence of his country. Last July, we met with him in Moscow, after his election as the head of state. I would like to emphasise that Indonesia is one of our key partners in the Asia-Pacific region. Our relations continue to develop steadily on a mutually beneficial basis, grounded in longstanding traditions of friendship and mutual assistance. 🤝 This year marks the 75th Anniversary of diplomatic relations between our nations. At that time, our country played an active role in the establishment of Indonesian statehood and the strengthening of the young Republic’s international standing. <...> Many facilities built during that period continue to operate successfully to this day, benefiting the Indonesian people. Russia is committed to the progressive development of cooperation and relations with Indonesia across all sectors. Russia played a significant role in facilitating Indonesia’s accession to #BRICS as a full member. We welcome Indonesia’s assumption of membership rights effective January 1. Given Indonesia’s weight and influence in contemporary global politics and economy, this step was undoubtedly the correct one and will bringsubstantial added value to both BRICS and all its cooperation mechanisms. Today’s talks were substantive. We discussed a broad spectrum of current issues of bilateral cooperation, as well as key topics on the international agenda. The declaration on strategic partnership, which we approved with Mr President following the talks, sets out ambitious and responsibleobjectives for deepening Russian-Indonesian relations across multiple domains, with particular emphasis on trade and economic cooperation. Several intergovernmental agreements and interagency arrangements were also concluded. I would like to emphasise that Indonesia is one of our leading South Asian foreign trade partners. 📈 Last year, bilateral trade was up by 2.5 percent at $4.3 billion, and in the first four months of this year it grew by another 40 percent. <...> We are also open to cooperation with our Indonesian partners in harnessing peaceful nuclear energy. This could include joint projects using nuclear technologies for non-energy purposes in medicine and agriculture, as well as training personnel for Indonesia’s national nuclear industry. We have an interest and are willing to collaborate in many high-tech sectors, such as outer space exploration, digitalisation, smart city technologies, and artificial intelligence. We are actively cooperating in the cultural and humanitarian sphere. <...> We are working on projects in the professional training as well with over 500 Indonesian students studying in our country. <...> 🌐 We certainly also discussed pressing issues on the international agenda. We noted that our countries’ positions on most of them either coincide or are very close. Our nations uphold the principles of the rule of international law and sovereignty, and we jointly advocate peaceful and sustainable development of the Asia-Pacific region. We also coordinate joint efforts at the UN and other international platforms. I would like to once again highly commend today’s productive work with Mr President. Undoubtedly, this visit will further strengthen the entire framework of Russian-Indonesian strategic partnership for the benefit of our peoples. Read in full 🇷🇺🇮🇩#RussiaIndonesia

🇷🇺🇮🇩 On the sidelines of the 28th St Petersburg International Economic Forum, President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putinheld a meeting with President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto, who is in Russia on an official visit (June 19, 2025) 💬Vladimir Putin: Mr President, friends. I am happy to welcome you to St Petersburg. We previously met in Moscow before your inauguration, and now, during your official visit, we have the opportunity to discuss our bilateral relationsin greater detail. Tomorrow, we will participate in the plenary session of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum, where you will be our guest of honour. This forum has long served as a valuable platform, bringing together a wide range of entrepreneurs and political leaders from around the world. 🤝 Our relations with Indonesia are steadily advancing, with trade turnover on the rise and strong prospects across several key and promising areas of cooperation. These include agriculture, space exploration, energy, and military-technical cooperation. The scope of our partnership is substantial and continues to expand. Indonesia is now a full-fledged member of #BRICS, and we very much hope — in fact, I am sure of it — that Indonesia will contribute significantly to the development and work of this organisation, which is becoming more and more influential in international affairs. We are very pleased to see you, Mr President. Welcome. #RussiaIndonesia

🎙Comment by Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov following 🇷🇺🇨🇳a telephone conversation with President of China Xi Jinping(June 19 2025) 💬 President Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping. The phone call took place in keeping with the mutual agreement of the two Sides. This was a friendly and constructive conversation with a primary focus on the escalation in the Middle East. The two Sides share identical approaches and firmly condemn Israel’s actions in violation of the UN Charter and other international norms. Moscow and Beijing have adopted a position of principle in their belief that the current situation and matters relating to the Iranian nuclear programme cannot be resolved by force, while a solution can only be achieved by political and diplomatic means. The President of Russia informed his colleague about his latest international contacts with a focus on his telephone conversations with the key actors in the context of the confrontation between Israel and Iran. The Russian leader reaffirmed Russia’s readiness to offer its good offices, if necessary. <...> In view of this increasingly challenging environment, the two Leaders agreed to instruct their respective teams in the relevant agencies and services of the two countries to work closely together in the coming days by sharing insights and perspectives. <...> The conversation organically shifted to the bilateral agenda, with both Leaders stressing that the Chinese President’s May visit to Moscow helped set new important goals and benchmarks for the governments and relevant agencies in their ongoing efforts to reinforce the Russia-China comprehensive strategic partnership. It was emphasised that the Chinese President’s participation as the main guest in the celebrations of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War held special significance and served as a compelling testament to our shared steadfast positions in upholding historical truth and preserving the memory of the heroic feats of our forefathers. <...> It has been agreed that the next time the Leaders will see each other will be on Chinese soil during the SCO Summit in Tianjin on August 31 – September 1. They will take part in the festivities marking the 80th anniversary of victory over militarist Japan and the end of World War II in Beijing on September 3. Full-scale bilateral talks will be held on September 2. 📈 Despite a number of adverse external factors, it was noted that trade and economic cooperation continues to gain momentum. Last year, mutual trade broke another record at almost $245 billion. <...> The Leaders of Russia and China emphasised their mutual interest in strengthening cooperation on pressing international issues and coordinating their efforts within #BRICS, the #SCO, the #UN, and other international platforms. <...> It was noted that it would be beneficial, in the spirit of the comprehensive strategic partnership between our countries, to coordinate mutual approaches so that the #CentralAsia region becomes a model of genuine stability, economic prosperity, and constructive cooperation. ☝️ The information we received from the President of China was highly significant and useful to us, particularly in light of our own preparations for the second high-level meeting in the Russia–Central Asia format, which is scheduled for October 10 in Dushanbe. The Heads of State once again expressed their satisfaction with the unprecedented level of Russian-Chinese relations, and both our President and the President of China remarked at the conclusion that they were very pleased with the exchange of views. The exchange was indeed highly productive, as it addressed the most pressing issues currently on the agenda, both internationally and in terms of developing our bilateral relations and contacts. The conversation lasted approximately an hour, and the Leaders bid each other farewell in a very warm and friendly manner. #RussiaChina

⚡️ Russia's Foreign Ministry statement on elections in the United States of America The victory of Donald Trump in the presidential election and his return to the White House after a four-year break obviously reflect Americans’ disappointment in the performance of the Biden administration and the election programme of the Democratic Party formulated by Vice-President Kamala Harris, who was hastily chosen to replace the incumbent President in the race. Despite an overpowering propaganda campaign, which Democrats launched against Donald Trump based on the administrative resource and support from the liberal media, the Republican candidate, who relied on the experience of his previous presidency, highlighted issues that are of real interest to the electorate, namely, the economy and illegal migration, as a counterbalance to the White House’s globalist course. In these circumstances, the ruling group was unable to use the chronically ill American “democracy,” a system, which is outdated, archaic and incompatible with the modern standards of direct, fair and transparent elections, to prevent Kamala Harris’s defeat. At the same time, there is an obvious civil discord in the United States, whose electorate has split into almost equal halves. In fact, we are witnessing confrontation between Democratic and Republican states, and between the advocates of “progressive” and traditional values. It is possible that Donald Trump’s return will fuel internal tensions and bitterness between the confronting camps. ❗️ We have no illusions regarding the President-elect, who is well known in Russia, or the new Congress, where Republicans have reportedly won control. The US ruling political elite adheres to anti-Russia principles and the policy of “containing Moscow.” This line does not depend on changes in America’s domestic political barometer, no matter if it is Trump and his supporters’ “America above all” or the Democrats’ focus on a “rules-based world order.” 🇷🇺🇺🇸 Russia will interact with the new administration when it comes to the White House, firmly upholding Russia’s national interests and working to achieve all the goals of the special military operation. Our conditions have not changed, and Washington is well aware of them.

🎙 Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's interview to Rossiya Segodnya news agency (November 5, 2024) #BRICS • The XVI BRICS Summit in Kazan came as a landmark international event not only of the year, but in recent history as well. Its success highlighted the futility of attempts to isolate Russia internationally. • As we sensed during the Summit, [the creation of a payment network that is resistant to external risks] is what non-Western countries are increasingly interested in. #MiddleEast Since the onset of unprecedented crisis [in the Middle East] in October 2023, the BRICS countries have come together to support the rights of the civilian population in the Gaza Strip. • Shortly after the beginning of the Israeli operation in Gaza, we coordinated with our BRICS partners and other like-minded nations to submit a draft resolution to the UN Security Council, calling for an end to military actions and for unhindered humanitarian access to Gaza. However, this resolution was blocked by the United States and its allies. #NATO • If [long-range] weapons are employed [by the Kiev regime to attack the territory of Russia], it would mean that not only Ukraine but also NATO countries are openly fighting Russia. • Our opponents should not disillusion themselves. In the event of aggression by NATO or its individual member states against our country, an appropriate response will ensue, in full compliance with Russia's sovereign right to self-defence and with the use of any meansnecessary to ensure its security, as stipulated in the UN Charter. And none of the instigators will be able to lie low, not across the Atlantic Ocean nor across the English Channel. #Ukraine#UN • Kiev continues to exert pressure on Antonio Guterres, demonstrating a blatant disregard for the UN Charter in an attempt to compel him and the entire UN Secretariat to align completely with Ukraine and its Western sponsors. This approach directly contravenes the constituent instrument of the Organisation, specifically paragraph 2 of Article 100 of the UN Charter, which prohibits any member state from attempting to influence the Secretary-General or other UN representatives. #Transnistria#Moldova • The situation surrounding Transnistria is complex. <...> I trust that the Moldovan authorities will exercise sufficient common sense to avoid ill-considered actions that could exacerbate tensions. • There are suggestions that the regional context necessitates new dialogue platforms on the Transnistrian issue, questioning the value of the 5+2 format. We disagree with this view and believe that external assistance to facilitate direct dialogue between Chisinau and Tiraspol is essential. #USA • Washington continues to actively perpetuate its own myth of Russian interference in any election, whether "at home" or in any third country. If an election results in a victory for forces undesirable to the United States, Russia is immediately blamed for the "wrong" electoral choice of the voters. • The Americans are attempting to attribute to us actions they themselves are engaged in. As the saying goes, God marks the crook. #Georgia • The United States and the EU are artificially trying to frame the current electoral process in Georgia as a strategic choice between Russia and the West, thereby attempting to present Georgia and other post-Soviet states with a false dilemma. • In reality, it is a choice between sovereign development based on national interests and external governance, between traditional values and neo-liberal principles imposed from outside. #SouthCaucasus • We commend the significant progress made within the Azerbaijani-Armenian peace process. • Unlike Western pseudo-mediators, we refrain from pressuring our partners into hastily concluding a peace treaty. We are convinced that a rushed peace, lacking comprehensive consideration of Baku and Yerevan's positions and the realities on the ground, would be counterproductive, creating additional risks of tension and potential conflict escalation.
