🎙 Interview by Russian Ambassador to Indonesia, Sergei Tolchenov, to TvOneNews: Key talking points • We are ready to work with any Indonesian Government. In the history of our bilateral ties we have had good relations with every government in Jakarta. I hope this will continue in the future, especially taking into account that President Prabowo Subianto has visited Russia several times, even in his capacity as Minister of Defence. • Indonesia is our long-standing friend. We have good political relations but we have much more to do in practical spheres: defence, trade, investment, economy, education, culture. • We are ready to cooperate in different fields, including the nuclear power sector. It is possible, taking into account that Russia is one of the most developed countries in this field. If the Indonesian side is interested, we are ready. • We are following the current development of the situation here in Indonesia very closely. We noticed that you are ready to include nuclear energy in the plans of development of your energy sphere in the future. If Indonesia decides to cooperate with Russia in this field, it will be cheaper, safer and we will manage to help our Indonesian friends to have nuclear power. • We are ready to be a partner who can share our experience, deliver military equipment to Indonesia. In a couple of weeks we will have a group of Russian ships come to Surabaya for the first-ever joint Russian-Indonesian military exercises. #RussiaIndonesia🇷🇺🇮🇩

📰 Excerpt from Ambassador Andrei Kelin's interview with TASS News Agency(25 October 2024) ❓Question: The United Kingdom has announced its intention to disburse a £2.26 billion loan to Kiev backed by Russian sovereign assets. Will Russia come up with retaliatory measures in response to this move and what form might they take? 💬Andrei Kelin: One needs to get the gist of the scheme. The British government was quick to announce the loan. It is supposed to be repaid from unforeseen profits generated by the reinvestment of frozen Russian assets. However, it seems that this scheme has not been thoroughly designed. The announcement was made in haste most probably in order to rope in other G7 countries and the EU to follow suit. As it stands for now, public comments imply that the loan will, in fact, be disbursed from the UK’s own budgetary resources. The procedure of repayment remains entirely unclear at this stage. In any case, the British jurisdiction holds relatively few Russian state assets, and the dividends from their reinvestment, as we understand, will not even cover the loan’s value in the coming decades. In other words, London has once again sugarcoated reality and dipped into the pockets of British taxpayers. Public borrowing under the Labour government rose by £2.1 billion in September this year compared to the same month last year. They are continuing down this path, straining the budget. ❗️ It is now beyond doubt that, in spite of numerous arguments in support of the presumed legal soundness of the scheme, it actually represents an act of plain theft. For outside observers this is a glaring example of the unreliability of the UK's jurisdiction for foreign investors. Such actions, of course, undermine the reputation of the pound.

#BRICS2024 🎙 President of Russia Vladimir Putin's remarks at the Plenary Session of the XVI BRICS Summit in the BRICS Plus/Outreach format(Kazan, October 24, 2024) 👉 In full 💬Vladimir Putin: I am delighted to welcome all of you to the BRICS Plus/Outreach-format meeting. This inclusive platform has proven its worth by enabling the BRICS group participants to engage in a direct and open dialogue with their friends and partners. <...> According to our agenda, we will discuss the most pressing issues the international community is facing today, including sustainable development, eradication of poverty, climate change adaptation, exchanging technology and knowledge, fighting terrorism and transborder crime. We will focus particularly on the peaceful resolution of conflicts, certainly including a serious discussion of the deteriorating situation in the Middle East. <...> #MultipolarWorld 🌐 All our countries share similar aspirations, values and a vision of a new democratic world order that reflects cultural and civilisational diversity. We are confident that such a system should be guided by the universal principles of respect for the legitimate interests and sovereign choice of nations, respect for international law and a spirit of mutually beneficial, honest co-operation. ☝️ The transition to a more just international system is not easy. Its development is being hampered by forces whose thinking and actions continue to be aimed at dominating everything and everyone. Under the guise of a rule-based order they are imposing on the world, they are actually attempting to contain growing competition and prevent the independent development of countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America that they cannot control. <...> #MiddleEast The current round of the Palestinian-Israeli confrontation is probably one of the most sanguinary in the long list of conflicts. Over 40,000 people, most of them civilians, have been killed in the ongoing hostilities in the Gaza Strip. I would like to emphasise that we have always come out against the use of terrorist methods. <...> Since the start of the escalation, we have joined forces with our BRICS and other partners to contribute to a settlement. <...> I would like to repeat that the main condition for restoring peace and stability in the Palestinian territories is the realisation of the two-state formula approved by the UN Security Council and General Assembly resolutions. <...> #EurasianSecurity The countries represented in this room have immense opportunities and resources at their disposal and play a prominent role on the international stage. They have been using their standing to enhance global security and promote sustainable development around the world. <...> Russia advocated the idea of creating an inclusive system of equitable and indivisible security for Eurasia free from any discrimination. <...> #UnitedNations 🇺🇳 The UN must retain its central role in efforts to maintain peace and security and facilitate sustainable and steady development. To ensure the effective functioning of the UN in the future, we believe it is important to adapt its structures to the realities of the 21st century, expanding the representation of countries of Asia, Africa and Latin America, including those whose leaders are present here, in the Security Council and other key international bodies. An effort to reform UN development institutions and global financial structures has long been overdue. <...> The founding fathers of the United Nations believed that its purpose was to enable nations to come together and agree on joint actions. *** ❗️Russia, like all BRICS countries, is open to cooperation with all countries of the Global South and East to promote inclusive and sustainable development and ultimately build a better world.

🗓 On October 24, 1945, exactly 7️⃣9️⃣ years ago, the UN Charter entered into force, almost four months after its singing at the concluding session of the UN Conference on International Organisation in San Francisco (June 26, 1945). With the ratification of this founding document the United Nations officially came into being. 💬 Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov:After the UN Charter came into force, the constituent conference was held in San Francisco, and the UN was established, the Soviet Union acted energetically to ensure respect for implementation of the principles set out in the UN Charter (excerpt from the interview for a documentary titled "The UN from the 20th to the 21st Century", Moscow, September 25, 2024). 🇷🇺🇺🇳 Strict adherence to the letter and spirit of the UN Charter is a prerequisite for building a more peaceful, prosperous, genuinely just and equitable world order. 💬 Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov:Today, the international community faces massive challenges, <...> which require united efforts rather than confrontation and desire of global dominance. Russia will always advocate collective efforts, truth and the rule of law, peace and cooperation in the interests of reviving the ideals set forth by the UN’s founding fathers. <...> [The] objectives and principles [of the UN Charter] remain fully relevant. The main thing is that everyone, without exception, respects these principles, not selectively, but considering their holistic and interconnected nature (excerpt from the article for Russia in Global Affairs magazine "The UN must recover its central role in coordinating actions by nations", October 4, 2024) 👉Article by FM Sergey Lavrov "Adherence to the UN Charter principles in their entirety and interconnection underwrite international peace and stability" (October 10, 2023) #UNCharterIsOurRules

Embassy comment on London's allegations regarding the situation in the Black Sea ⚠️ The British authorities have come up with yet another anti-Russian narrative. They now blame us for intensified strikes against Ukrainian vessels and related port infrastructure, accusing Russia of causing delays in food supplies to the Palestinian population and grain shipments to countries of the Global South. This is self-revealing. By whipping up this issue London essentially admits Western involvement in the supply of weapons to Ukraine’s armed forces via the Black Sea route using cargo vessels belonging to third countries. This is tacitly acknowledged by the UK side that is quite familiar with relevant video materials released by Russia’s Defence Ministry. Against this backdrop new financial pledges by London and its partners aimed at providing Ukrainians with additional naval drones and radar systems further highlight the use of these combat assets not to safeguard the so-called "grain corridor", but rather to provide cover for sea-borne arms deliveries to Ukrainian militants. This serves only to prolong the agony of the Kiev regime. Tellingly, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer pontificated on global food security on the eve of his departure for the Commonwealth summit in Samoa. ☝️ Ostensibly championing the interests of developing nations, London clearly intends to divert attention from issues closer to the hearts and minds of many participants of the upcoming summit. Chief among them are their rightful demands for compensation by the former colonial power for damage inflicted during years of brutal colonial exploitation.

🎙 Excerpt from Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s interview to the newspaper "Arguments and Facts" on BRICS (October 21, 2024) Read in full ❓Question: A significant number of countries, approximately 30 or perhaps more, have voiced their intention to join this group. Notably, Türkiye, a NATO member, which was rather surprising to me. Conversely, it has been reported that Kazakhstan, through the statement of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's Press Secretary, has expressed no intention of joining BRICS in the foreseeable future. Why is there such activity and interest in this group of nations? Why is everyone invited to join it? What are the future prospects for BRICS? Is it not in competition with other international entities? 💬Sergey Lavrov:#BRICS epitomises the shifts that have long been underway in the global economy. New centres of economic growth are emerging, and alongside them comes financial influence, which in turn brings political influence. <...> BRICS has prioritised the needs of its nations, and interest in the grouping continues to grow. It is a consortium where no single nation leads or is led, devoid of the bureaucratic machinery akin to that observed in Brussels, where EU officials impose decisions that contravene the will and interests of several member states <...> ❗️ Rather than addressing the challenges faced by EU members, the Brussels bureaucracy is preoccupied with the transfer of arms to Ukraine, raising funds for this purpose, and undertaking other actions detrimental to the economy, social sphere, and industry of EU member states. ☝️ BRICS, conversely, does not compel any nation to make sacrifices. Within BRICS, there is no imposition of such artificial objectives, nor is there an intention to contain any nation. BRICS is committed to enhancing the combined potential of its nations and devising collaborative strategies for harnessing these potentials for mutual benefit. Consequently, rather than relying on artificial constructs, BRICS formulates plans and projects based on real-world needs. <...> This is precisely what renders BRICS appealing to the Global Majority nations. About 30 countries seek to establish ties with the group today. Some of them have applied to join as full participants, and others to participate in the BRICS Plus/Outreach format. We are ready to invite them, and have invited them before to various events as guests of the chair. Following the decision of last year’s summit, we are working at the level of experts and ministers to prepare a proposal on a new BRICS partner country category. Partner countries will enjoy broad rights and privileges, almost equal to the permanent members of BRICS, with just a few exceptions. One of the countries that announced their interest in becoming a participant in BRICS – and did it publicly – was Türkiye. The country is indeed a member of the North Atlantic Alliance. <...> For decades, Türkiye has not been allowed to join the European Union, with respective talks hindered in every possible way. It is unlikely that the EU will ever change its negative stance, which is another argument in favour of Türkiye’s increasing rapprochement with BRICS. <...> 🤝 What makes BRICS and other Global Majority or Global East associations that do not include Western countries stand out, is that they are not created for the purpose of struggling or fighting with anyone. They are established to collectively benefit from their competitive advantages such as geographical location, shared history, cultural and humanitarian proximity, and coherence of economic systems, as is the case of the former Soviet republics. This is an objectively occurring process. The West has been proving time and again that it is not just willing, but never hesitates to use illegal sanctions against any country it sees as a threat to its economic domination, violating the global market economy principles it supposedly champions. All countries see this. #BRICS2024
