for the ones who don't know, the unzip bot is using both 7-zip and unrar for extracting files unrar is a freeware provided by RARLAB (the ones behind WinRAR), but we're using Alpine Linux and the binaries they provide do not work there in the past, i manually built the binary everytime i created the docker image, however this step alone represented 60%+ of build time so i decided to automate the process and publish the binaries elsewhere this elsewhere is this repo : https://github.com/EDM115/unrar-alpine after burning 7.75$ in 770 actions runs to create 164 releases, all previous versions of unrar that compiled are available + it will auto release new versions now for the crazy part : i sent this repo to RARLAB to tell them about my initiative, and after some back and forth discussion with the RAR creator (😳 !!!) it got added to the list of user-contributed versions ! i'm really happy about how this turned out :) give it a star ⭐️ if you wish, and if you ever need unrar on Alpine Linux, you know where to look for

hey guys this update has been long overdue, right ? well to put it simply, life has been a hell of a ride these last months, and it will only continue until the end of the year tl;dr : I'm not dead and am starting to work on the bot again quick rundown : • my plans have completely changed for my studies, I won't do what I had planned for years and instead will have to move with my girl and study another field there • we have to seek for an apartment for this summer in a city that isn't in my region but is close to her's • I'm doing an internship since a month up to June and although I'm really happy about it and learn a lot, it's really exhausting • more and more projects and goals pile up but time isn't extensive and I have deadlines to meet so I can't mess up and have to force myself to work more as a consequence, and considering the fact that I will need a solid income to be able to pay the apartment bills lmao, I'm forcing myself to work on the bot again starting today, every day of the week, I will do my best to develop it today I worked on the tooling around the development tomorrow I'll finetune this and continue the simplification/split of files for easier dev I can't promise everything (I feel like RobTop delaying 2.2 😭) but I will very likely push changes and bug fixes over this month, hoping to have finished by the end of May so June can be 100% consecrated to paperwork, moving and other things over the last months I've listed bugs that either I or my users encountered and all of them will be promptly fixed every feature request will also be implemented we lost quite a lot of users over the past months (especially due to the downtime and the bot being overwhelmed), but MAU stayed steady (still above 3k), bandwidth usage have went under 1Tb/day which puts less strain on my server and we still have new users every day :) the VIP plan will come probably by mid May, and as I stated in the past users who helps me with donationuntil the VIP plan launch will receive an unlimited lifetime free subscription. I say this because a few users went to my DMs asking how to subscribe, fear not it will come :) lastly, for the nerdy boys out here, what was supposed to be the v7 2 years ago will evolve progressively into v10 more info here wish me luck 🫡

New Spotify queue UI : - displays cover arts - actions with swipes instead of select and menu - queue is no longer separated from next section, only an icon displays - lost the ability to go prev/next in this screen - nicer UI - impossibility to multiselect (batch delete) what do you think ? better or worse ?

on the upcoming weeks/months, on top of all shit that I have to do for v7 (new database, refactoring, new plugins system, settings, internationalization, performance boosts, …), I will try to work on a load balancer feature it could handle multiple connections, not just 2, which could allow for horizontal scaling this would hopefully reduce floodwaits and overall frustration thx @DavidCordona and @DukhDardVedna for reminding me about this every now and then ----- edit : oh and also an automated webhook to restart when things go wrong. would need to expose an API btw… and it's going to be more work than what's a priority
