🗓The Eastern Economic Forum 2024 (#EEF) will be held in Vladivostok on September 3-6, 2024, under the auspices of the Roscongress Foundation. The main theme of the Forum is “The Far East 2030: Joining Efforts, Creating Opportunities”.
The participants will be presented with the following discussion and thematic blocks:
▫️ “New Contours of International Cooperation”
▫️ “The Russian Far East
▫️ People, Education and Patriotism”
▫️ “Technologies to Ensure Independence”
▫️ “Financial Value System”
▫️ “Master Plans: from Architecture to Economy”
▫️ “Transport and Logistics: New Routes”
The EEF is a leading platform for developing the economy of the Far East and expanding international cooperation in the Asia-Pacific Region. In 2023, over 7,000 representatives of official, expert and business circles from 62 countries of the Asia-Pacific Region and other regions of the world took part in the Forum, and 373 agreements worth 3.8 trillion roubles were signed.
Representatives of the Russian MFA are to participate in a number of EEF sessions, including those on:
• infectious disease control
• youth policy
• support for indigenous minorities
• information security
• climate
• the formation of a multipolar world
• as well as in the APEC conference
Traditionally, a number of events will be held on the sidelines of the EEF with the participation of the Department of Information and Press of the Russian Foreign Ministry. A panel discussion will be organised by the Mezhdunarodnaya Zhizn (International Life) magazine on "Eurasian Space: Civilisational and Geopolitical Challenges and Prospects", and a session will be held on new ICTs in international relations.

Over the years, the Forum has contributed significantly to the development of constructive economic ties between our country and other states in the Asia Pacific Region. 📅 On September 11–12, Russia's President Vladimir Putin will make a trip to the city of Vladivostok in the Far Eastern Federal District, where he will take part in the 8th Eastern Economic Forum #EEF.
On September 11, the President will view an interactive presentation on the results achieved in the development of the Far East. The event will include a video link with residents of priority social and economic development areas who are ready to launch their production sites . Further, the President of Russia will chair a meeting, via videoconference, on the development programme of Far Eastern regions.
He will listen to the report on the progress made in the construction of cultural and educational clusters in Russia. Vladimir Putin’s meeting with Governor of the Primorye Territory Oleg Kozhemyako has also been scheduled for this day.
🤝 On September 12, the President of Russia will deliver a speech at the plenary session of the EEC, in which Vice President of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic Pany Yathotou will also take part. Vladimir Putin will also hold a number of bilateral meetings with heads of foreign delegations on the sidelines of the forum.
The President will also speak with moderators of the forum’s key sessions via a video conference in conclusion of the programme in Vladivostok.

📣 The international essay competition the 2nd Open Dialogue “The Future of the World: A New Platform for Global Growth” is on-going, open to submission.
Authors are invited to submit their analytical and conceptual works on one of the four topics:
⚫️Investments in human capital

⚫️Investing in communication
✏️ To take part, you must register on the official project website and submit your essay using the special form. The deadline for submissions is December 26, 2025. All essays must meet the established content and formatting requirements.
🥇 Authors of the best works selected for the shortlist by the Expert Council will be invited to take part in the Open Dialogue in person, which will be held in Moscow in April 2026. The winners will have the opportunity to participate in major international economic forums, including the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (#SPIEF), June 3–6, 2026.

In 2024, the Forum was attended by over 7'000 officials, business and media representatives from 75 countries. 313 agreements were signed for a total of more than $60 billion.
The representatives of more than 70 countries and territories have already confirmed their attendance at the X Eastern Economic Forum. In 2025, the Forum programme will be divided into the following thematic discussion pillars:

The Department of Information and Press will host several sessions: "Measuring the Social Impact of AI: Progress, Risks and Development Pathways" as well as discussions on the Greater Eurasian Partnership and cooperation in the Arctic.
With the support of the Department of Information and Press, the International Affairs journal will hold a session titled “Asia – The Gateway to the World: The Asian Continent's Role in the Global Media Space.”
On the sidelines of the Forum, the Russia's Foreign Ministry’s Council of Young Diplomats will organise the Dialogue of Young Diplomats from Asia-Pacific countries.

🗓On September 15-22, 2024, the III Open World Astronomy Olympiad (OWAO) will take place in the Federal Territory “Sirius”.
The Olympiad is based on the best astronomical traditions, which brought together world-renowned specialists in the subject.
The event aims to strengthen scientific and educational partnerships with other countries as well as to identify talent in astronomy.
👉 The age of the Olympiad participants must not exceed 18 years, while the minimum age threshold is not established.
