Red_book 🌿 Slender-billed Curlew (Numenius tenuirostris) 🌿 This rare bird species is on the brink of extinction (CR). Distribution: Southern Aral region (migration), Western Siberia (breeding), Mediterranean countries (wintering). Habitat: flat wetlands with marshy shores and shallow areas. Population: currently less than 50 individuals worldwide; in the 1980–90s, there were 316–326. Lifestyle: spring migration — March–April, autumn migration — August–September; feeds on aquatic invertebrates. Threats: habitat loss and changes in natural environments. Conservation: hunting is prohibited; protected in the “Sudochye Lakes System” state reserve.
