Back in March, Minister Norma Foley said the 12-bed Oldcastle House Hotel was no longer under consideration for use as an IPAS centre. Last Thursday Meath County Council cleared it for use. The hotel has previously been housing a number of Ukrainians. The small town in in northwestern Meath has a population of a little over a thousand The application for exempted development was filed by Transboil Ltd, c/o Joe Beggan with an address at Office 4 in the Old Rossmore Factory on the Dublin Road, Monaghan (Eircode H18VX08). Transboil have previously made applications for IPAS Centres in Letterkenny, Ballindrait and Castlefinn and Boyle. An African male exposing himself outside the Grand Hotel IPAS centre in Wicklow Town, last night and again this morning. When gardaí finally arrested him, a local says he could be heard shouting "this is racist" while being handcuffed. Another remarked "I just want to say a huge thank you to the lady that let me into her car this morning and gave me a lift home, from outside the grand hotel.
