This speech was given at our party’s celebration of the 108th anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution, held in Southall on 8 November 2025. Comrade Zhou from the Chinese embassy reminds the meeting that China is socialist, and that the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and the CPC have their origins in and trace their roots to the Great Socialist October Revolution in Russia. Two of the hunger strikers are now on day 50. All 8 are at risk of sudden death. 'Here’s a reminder of what these eight unconvicted people, innocent in the eyes of the law and imprisoned without trial for up to 18 months, are suffering at the hands of the state. - Qesser has been arbitrarily put into solitary confinement, had her hijabs confiscated, she has been assaulted and sexualised by prison guards and had her cell forcibly searched. She has twice been refused essential medical care for many hours while in a life-threatening condition. - Heba has had hijabs confiscated and was forcibly moved from HMP Bronzefield to HMP New Hall, hundreds of miles away from her friends, family and support system. While on hunger strike the prison staff have refused to allow her warm clothing. - T has been constantly referred to as a terrorist (despite not being held on terrorism charges) and had her recreational and educational activities cancelled. - Lewie was removed from his job in the servary and confined to his cell after writing ‘I support the hunger strikers’ on a t-shirt. - Umer has been barred from showering or using a prayer mat and refused access to a Quran. He has been assaulted and strip searched for giving the call to prayer. On one occasion prison authorities refused to call an ambulance for him until he passed out. - All prisoners have had their visits and phone calls arbitrarily restricted, their mail withheld and been removed from their prison jobs. Many of them have also been put in solitary confinement, had their cells searched and their access to books, education and recreation restricted. A major weapon used by the exploiting class in its quest for eternal primacy is narrative control – in particular the falsification of history and the weaponisation of its false narratives to mobilise workers against one another in the interests of profit-seeking and continued imperialist domination of the globe. Central to the zionist project has been the claim that the jewish state stands outside ordinary political morality. Criticism is not simply disagreement – it is framed as sacrilege. As a result, naming the violence of the Israeli state becomes, itself, a punishable act. "Current laws are inadequate," says police commissioner. "Many of the slogans being used don't meet prosecution thresholds." On behalf of British imperialism and its defence of zionist Israel, the police have now declared that the slogan "Globalise the intifada" to be an arrestable offence and are calling for stronger laws to make it a jailable offence. What is the intifada? The just rebellion of an occupied people against the colonisation of their land and the ethnic cleansing/genocide of their people. Note that the increasingly heavy-handed policing and criminalisation of anti-genocide protestors in the west is all being done in the name of "keeping the jewish community safe".
