This process of reorienting Venezuela towards socialism has been a slow one. It has not taken place in the same way and with the same speed as the Paris Commune of 1871 or the 1917 October Revolution in Russia. Many problems still remain to be solved – in particular, the ownership of banks, factories, land, media and other large enterprises, many of which are still in the hands of a hostile exploiting class that is ever-ready to collaborate with the imperialists in trying to bring down the Bolivarian government and destroy the Chavista movement. Nevertheless, over the last 25 years we have seen certain key shifts in state power that are enabling genuine participation by the working masses in government, and which together continue to prevent the socialists being ousted from power. From the Statement of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Belarus On November 14, 2025, the President of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, appealed to the Constitutional Court with an initiative to ban the Communist Party of Poland. The main goal of this initiative is to declare the activities of the Communist Party as contradicting the country's Basic Law (Constitution). Karol Nawrocki accuses the Communist Party of allegedly using totalitarian methods in its program and activities. The Communist Party of Belarus considers such accusations a direct attempt to violate the political rights of Polish citizens and a direct confirmation of the totalitarian nature of the political system in today's Poland. The Communist Party of Belarus strongly opposes the persecution of people with communist, socialist, and other views for political reasons in any country, including Poland. Over the years of its activity, not a single fact of violation by the Communist Party of even such unfair and anti-people bourgeois laws that exist today in Poland has been established. The new wave of persecution is intended to sow fear among the progressive communist and socialist part of Polish society and to begin direct and blatant repressions against politically active representatives of the working people, true, not paper patriots of their Homeland. The Communist Party of Belarus and the Communist Party of Poland have deep historical ties. Together in 1920, we fought against the white intervention in Belarus and Poland. Together in the 1920s-1930s, we forged resistance to the bourgeois regime of fascist Sanation in Poland and endured its totalitarian regime. We resisted the Hitler occupation during World War II and fought for the restoration of workers' power in Belarus and Poland. Together we rebuilt Soviet Belarus and People's Poland in the post-war period. Today we fight together against imperialism and the fascist reaction of global capital. The names of Belarusian and Polish communists, heroes of the war against the white interventionists, victims of the Sanation regime, prisoners of the Bereza-Kartuzskaya concentration camp, prisons in Vilnius, Grodno, Bialystok, Brest, Warsaw, and other cities, heroes of the anti-fascist underground and partisan movement, heroes of the post-war revival will forever remain in the memory of the two peoples and parties. The current attempt to ban the Communist Party is direct evidence of the strengthening of far-right forces oriented not towards the interests of ordinary people but capital, and it returns Poland to the dark years of Sanation, the Bereza-Kartuzskaya concentration camp, the Brest elections, and fascism. The regime ruling in Warsaw and the prison of peoples, the European Union, which openly and brazenly persecutes communist, socialist, and other progressive movements and oppresses the working peoples of their countries, should be accused of totalitarianism, not the Communist Party of Poland. The Communist Party of Belarus expresses full solidarity support for the Communist Party of Poland and demands that the ruling bourgeois Sanation regime, whose actions are anti-people in nature, stop all persecution of communists, socialists, and other representatives of the Polish working people. The Polish state must repeal the totalitarian decommunization legislation, return to the Polish people the names of their true heroes of the Polish People's Republic era, fully restore the rights and return the Communist Party of Poland to full social life.
