Today marks the anniversary of a pivotal moment in one of history's most tragic and heroic chapters: the breaking of the Siege of Leningrad in 1943. ⭐Duration: 872 days. From September 8, 1941, to January 27, 1944. ⭐Population: Around 3 million civilians and soldiers were trapped at the start. ⭐The Hunger Ration: At its lowest point in November-December 1941, the daily bread ration was just 125 grams. ⭐The Road of Life (Дорога жизни), the only lifeline across the frozen Lake Ladoga, evacuated over 1.4 million civilians and brought in vital supplies. ⭐The Toll: The primary cause of death was starvation and extreme cold over 1 million. ⭐The Unbroken City: Despite everything, Leningrad resisted. Factories kept working, artists created, and a symphony became a symbol of defiance. Today we remember the immense suffering and honour the incredible endurance of Leningrad's defenders and residents. Photos: Аргументы и факты #memorible_date #WW2 🟠RCR | Support | Boost

❄️ In Kamchatka (Russia), rescuers urged residents not to jump into snowdrifts from windows: “Under the layer of snow, there may be fences, cars, sharp metal structures that can injure a person. There's also a high chance of getting stuck in a snowdrift without being able to get out on your own”

😐How I'm feeling at the end of the first work week of the year. • Чувствовать себя (imperf. verb+ reflexive pronoun) [choos-tva-vat' see-bya] To feel 🔻Russian verb чувствовать requires a reflexive pronoun себя in contrast to English to feel when you speak about someone's physical condition or mood. А как вы себя чувствуете? 🔻Состояние нестояния 🔻Чувствовать себя как рыба в воде #useful_vocabulary #just_cats #revision 🟠RCR | Support | Boost

Be afraid of your desires, especially the weather ones! 🌨 So the cherished dream of every Muscovite in recent months has come true! Russians missed the white, fluffy, magical stuff so much.… And the universe, as always, heard them literally. And it gave out snow with such zeal, as if it had a special offer in its store "three cubic meters of snow for the price of one!"😁 🌨 And here it is — the moment of truth!. Now Russians all over our vast country are professional athletes digging their cars out of a snow cocoon in the mornings. 🌨 The moral of this snow parable is that the universe is not vindictive, it just has a specific sense of humour. If you wanted snow, you got it, keep it! A whole carriage! And a shovel to boot! • Вагон и маленькая тележка! [va-gon i ma-lin'-ka-ya ti-lezh-ka] SLT: A cart and a small wagon 🔻This is a colloquial, modernized version of the expression воз и маленькая тележка (a cart and a little cart), meaning the amount of something which is more than enough. It's used not only about work but also about problems and things in general. Video: Ri00 #Russian_culture #phraseology #brief_and_interesting 🟠RCR | Support | Boost
