❤️‍🔥🐕Frontline Dog Day: Remembering an Immortal Feat. ❤️‍🔥They didn't wear shoulder boards. They didn't receive ranks. But their contribution to Victory is priceless. ❤️ The Victory Museum in Moscow on Poklonnaya Hill remembered those who fought alongside soldiers on the front lines - the four-legged heroes of the Great Patriotic War. Dogs - signalmen, medics, sappers, demolition experts... They went through fire, saved, pulled out, blew up, found. Without fear. Without hesitation. 🔥August 19 is a special date in military history. It was on this day in 1943 that an unprecedented feat took place: Dina, a shepherd dog-saboteur 🪖🐕, successfully blew up an enemy train on the Polotsk-Drissa stretch in Belarus... and survived. The laconic frontline report stated: "On August 19, 1943, a train with enemy personnel was blown up on the Polotsk-Drissa stretch. 10 wagons were destroyed, a large section of the railway was disabled. No losses on our side." This heroic episode became the reason for establishing Frontline Dog Day. 60,000 tails - 60,000 destinies that wrote themselves into history. ❤️‍🔥💣Julbars is a legendary mine-detecting dog who found 7,468 mines. At the Victory Parade, he, wounded, was carried on Stalin's tunic - as a soldier, as a hero. 🔥💊Mukhtar - carried 400 wounded from the battlefield. ❤️‍🔥📱Jack - a signalman who, bleeding, crawled 12 kilometers to deliver a message. And many others... They didn't wait for awards. They simply did their job - to the end. This is a day when we bow our heads before their courage. ❤️‍🔥A solemn flower-laying ceremony took place at the Monument to the Frontline Dog. We remember. We honor. We say "Thank you" 🙏

Amderma is a settlement above the Arctic Circle, with the stress on the first syllable. It translates from Nenets as walrus haul-out (or walrus rookery). 🔻It was founded in 1933 next to a mine where fluorite (also known as fluorspar) was extracted – a mineral containing radioactive uranium and thorium. It was widely used in industry. 🔻In the photo, it appears to be August – watermelons are in season. They are sold at the main village store, limited to one per person. 🔻The average August temperature in Amderma is 7.1 degrees Celsius above zero. However, judging by their clothing, this August isn't particularly warm, and the temperature is significantly below average. 🔻Judging by their faces, these people are happy. Probably because there are still three full months until the polar night. And of course, the watermelon warms the soul. #retrophotos #brief_and_interesting 😎RCR | Support | Boost

🍉Арбуз (арбузы) (masc.noun) [ar-boos (ar-boo-zy)] A watermelon(s) 🔻The noun арбуз is an Eastern borrowing, derived from the Persian xarbuza (meaning watermelon, melon). When translated from Persian, xarbuza literally means donkey cucumber. 🔻In Rus', the word арбуз has been known since the 15th century. 🔻According to one theory, Russians first encountered watermelons thanks to Indian merchants who traded with Kievan Rus' in the 10th century. 🔻Accounts state that Peter the Great enjoyed watermelon right from the melon field and was so impressed by its taste that he ordered another fireworks display and a commemorative medal to be made. 🔻Interestingly, for a long time in Russia, watermelon was not consumed fresh: it was always soaked for a long time in sweet syrup and boiled, with various spices added! 🤔By the way, is a watermelon a fruit, a vegetable, or a berry? ▶️Cognate words for арбуз (Revision) #useful_vocabulary #brief_and_interesting 😎RCR | Support | Boost

UVB (UZB)-76, also known as the Doomsday Radio Station or The Buzzer, is a mysterious shortwave (HF) radio station possibly associated with the DEAD HAND system. 🔻On 08.11.2025, the Russian military HF radio station UVB-76 broadcast six messages that coincide with broadcasts on January 6-10, 2022, as before the start of its operation. 🔻UVB-76 is believed to have been broadcasting since the late 1970s. 🔻It operates at a frequency of 4625 kHz and transmits a monotonous sound signal - short, repetitive, with occasional interruptions for voice messages. 🔻Most of the time, you can hear repeated "buzzing" sounds, rare phrases in Russian, for example, FORESTICE (Лесолёд) call signs, names, numbers, as well as strange sounds — clicks, music fragments, etc. 🔻There is no official explanation for the work of UVB-76, but the most common version links it to the military or special services 🔻UVB-76 listen on 4625 kHz (VHF). • Кофта (кофты) (femin.noun) [kof-ta (kof-ty)] 🔻Though being a slightly outdated word, this incredibly versatile Russian noun is a true linguistic chameleon! 🔻While English (Russian has borrowed these words too!) has specific terms like: • hoodie(худи, толстовка) • pullover(пуловер) • longsleeve(логнгслив=лонгслив) • bomber jacket(бомбер) • sweatshirt(свитшот, толстовка) • cardigan(кардиган) 🔻кофта can broadly refer to any of these and more. It's the ultimate universal top descriptor! 🔻Кофта came to Russian from European languages: • Polish kofta • Swedish kofta • Danish kofte (a short dress or a raincoat • Norwegian kufta (a wide clothing, a cape). However, some believe that the European kofta originated from the Turkic kaftan (кафтан - a long coat). But the link is pretty ancient and doubtful. #useful_vocabulary #Etymology #memes 😎RCR | Support | Boost

• Вывозить (imperf.) [vy-va-zít'] = • Вывезти (perf.) [vy-vis-ti] 🔻Beyond its traditional meanings of to transport out (by vehicle), to take someone somewhere far away by car/vehicle or to export to other countries, the Russian verb вывозить has become incredibly popular in youth slang! 🔻In this modern, figurative sense, вывозить means to cope or to handle - especially when dealing with significant mental or physical stress and problems. Example: • Он на новом месте (работы) совсем не вывозит. He really isn't coping well in his new job. 😉A truly versatile verb for modern struggles! 🎧🗣👇A вы вывозите всё это? 📎 Inspired by Monday:) #spoken_Russian 😎RCR | Support | Boost
