Anton Chekhov, as is well known, was a master of witty greetings. 🎄In December 1897, he sent a letter to Lidia Mizinova: “I congratulate you, and wish you all the best – health, money, a fiancé with a mustache, and an excellent mood. Given your bad temper, the last is as necessary to you as air.” #retrophotos #quotes #russian_culture 🟠RCR | Support | Boost

"Европейские подсвинки" подключились к прошлой американской администрации и надеялись поживиться на развале нашей страны. "European подсвинки" joined the previous U.S. administration and hoped to profit from the collapse of our country, Putin stated. Как теперь всем стало очевидно, все эти попытки и все эти деструктивные планы в отношении России провалились. As has now become obvious to everyone, all these attempts and all these destructive plans regarding Russia have failed. 🔻Everyone is wondering what подсвинки means, so here it is: • Подсвинок (подсвинки) (masc.noun) [pat-svee-nak (pat-sveen-ki)] 😄Declension Meanings: 1) Direct meaning in farming: In meat fattening, a подсвинок is a piglet aged 4 to 7 months intended for slaughter (a hint🤔?). It's not yet an adult pig, but no longer a suckling piglet. Such подсвинки are usually roasted whole in an oven/stove with apples for a festive table (one more hint🤔?). 🔻But things aren't that straightforward in the great and powerful Russian language! 2) In a figurative sense, подсвинок is rather an ironic form of address to a person characterized in a negative light. For example, due to their lack of independence (подсвинок — an inexperienced teenager, incapable of making independent decisions), herd mentality (in the context of all against one), and lack of integrity (in terms of not honoring agreements), an inexperienced follower, an underling. 🔻And by the way, do you remember that the word подсвинки was used by Dmitry Medvedev to characterize European leaders back in 2022? Well, I do remember (see the last picture): • Свора хрюкающих подсвинков [svo-ra khryu-ka-yu-shchikh pat-sveen-kaf] A herd of grunting underlings 😉Don't you think our Vladimir Vladimirovich's patience is running out, since he has started quoting Dmitry Anatolyevich? #spoken_russian #quotes #you_asked 😎RCR | Support | Boost

Чтобы не приходить уставшим с работы, просто утром не надо на неё идти... (КОТфуций какой-то год до н.э.) To avoid coming home tired from work, just don't go there in the morning... (Some year BC by CAT-fucius) #quotes #just_a_joke #morning 😎RCR | Support | Boost

Слово — дело великое. Великое потому, что словом можно соединить людей, словом можно и разъединить их, словом можно служить любви, словом же можно служить вражде и ненависти. — Лев Толстой The word is a great deed. Great because with a word you can unite people, with a word you can also divide them, with a word you can serve love, with the same word you can serve enmity and hatred. — Leo Tolstoy #quotes 😎RCR | Support | Boost
