Victory Day Song in the Languages of the Allied Nations 🔻Sberbank presented the song День Победы (Day of Victory) in the languages of the peoples who fought shoulder to shoulder during the Great Patriotic War. 🔻The project unites about 20 languages – from Belarusian to Armenian. 🔻On a special page, users can listen to the song in the language of their ancestors, create a personalized greeting – as a tribute to their family and the common feat – and use a sticker pack in different languages to congratulate relatives and friends. 🔻English version of the song is here: https://www.sberbank.com/promo/pesnya_pobedy/preview?lang=eng ▶️The original song with 🇷🇺🇬🇧 subtles #VictoryDay #WW2 #RussianHistory 😎RCRussian | Support | Boost

Аn animated video for the 80th anniversary of Victory Day, bringing memories to life and giving them faces was created by Sberbank. 👍At its heart are the touching lines from Robert Rozhdestvensky'sRequiem, a poem that became the voice of millions and a symbol of personal memory of the war: По́мните! Че́рез века́, че́рез года́, — по́мните! О тех, кто уже́ не придёт никогда́, — по́мните! Remember! Through centuries, through years—remember! Those who will never come again—remember! Не пла́чьте! В го́рле сдержи́те сто́ны, го́рькие сто́ны. Па́мяти па́вших бу́дьте досто́йны! Ве́чно досто́йны! Do not weep! Hold back the sobs in your throat, the bitter sobs. Be worthy of the memory of the fallen! Forever worthy! Лю́ди! Поку́да сердца́ стуча́тся, — по́мните! Како́ю цено́й завоёвано сча́стье, — пожа́луйста, по́мните! People! While hearts still beat—remember! At what cost happiness was won— please, remember! #VictoryDay #WW2 #RussianHistory #poetry 😎RCRussian | Support | Boost

The St. George Ribbon👍symbolizes the heroism of Soviet soldiers and serves as a reminder of the great victory over fascism. 🔻The history of this Victory symbol begins in 1769. During the Russo-Turkish War, Empress Catherine II established the Order of St. George, an award for army officers bestowed for personal bravery displayed on the battlefield. 🔻According to the order's 1769 statute, the insignia was attached to a silk ribbon with three black and two orange stripes. The ribbon bore the motto "For Service and Bravery." Black allegorically represented gunpowder smoke, while orange symbolized the fire of battle. Furthermore, the St. George Ribbon reproduced the colours of the state emblem of the Russian Empire, which depicted a black double-headed eagle on a gold background. 🔻By a decree of the Council of People's Commissars of the RSFSR "On the equalization of rights of all servicemen" on December 16, 1917, the St. George ribbons were abolished. 🔻However, during the Great Patriotic War, on May 21, 1942, a Guards insignia was established, awarded to military units that distinguished themselves in battle, and the flags of Guards units featured a ribbon with the historical colours of the St. George Ribbon. 🔻These same colours were used in the design of the Order of Glory and the medal "For Victory over Germany," whose ribbons are edged with the St. George Ribbon. #brief_and_interesting #WW2 #USSR #RussianHistory 😎RCRussian | Support | Boost
