I'm McLoving selling power on days like this... Wife's car pulled from the grid before we were selling enough power to cover the usage, so we bought power 39c of power early in the morning.... then I sold power most of hte day for a net total of $11 to the good.

I've set up 4 IBC totes to be weeping bed planters. Sorry I don't have pictures of all of them. Basically we cut the top two rungs off the cages on 3 sides and left one side standing proud at original height. This gave me an attachment point for a cattle panel arch between to IBCs facing each other. 10' of corrugated weeping drain pipe. 450lbs of sand 11lbs 5kg of coconut fibers 700 lbs of topsoil Lowes sells sand in 900lbs bag for $70 BTW.

Today we made good power.... Had two EVs arrive home at nearly the same time and so both started charging at nearly the same time. At one point, I was charging two cars at a total of 16kw, running the house and still was selling 1kw to the grid. It occurred to me today that once my battery gets to 100%, one of my 3kw MPPTs shuts down, so I changed the programming on one of my cars to have it charge at 90% house battery rather than waiting until 97%. That way I can continue to make up to 22kw while charging one of the cars. The reality is that if it's a sunny enough day that I get to 90%, I know damn well I'm going to make it to 100% and it's OK that I divert power from the house batteries to a car. So today since we never bought power from the grid even when charging the cars, I scored 100% of my self-sufficiency. In addition we sold $10.37 to the grid above my usage.

This is what the whole page looks like.... This says I'm 91% self-sufficient and that's because I export power to the grid and buy it back to power the cars. This scheme dings me for in/out of grid. And that's fine because if the world ends, we'll be driving a lot less. ha.

I'm doing a little more refining on the source data I use for this home assistant energy graph page. The top graphic is usage (above the center line) and production (below the center line). basically, the pink is energy that went into my battery early in the day and purple became the dominate color after noon when I was selling power to the grid. note that I always sell a little to the grid even when charging batteries..... after my batteries are full I connect the rest of the system to the grid and sell lots of power. Today I sold $7.55 in power The lower graph is 5 of my MPPTs and the total power from each.. and the projected power. Today was cloudy so ididn't make what hte forecast said.
