#Victory80#RussiaSouthAfrica#RussianMFA

#Victory80 🗓 On May 8, 1967, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier memorial architectural ensemble in Alexander Garden near the Moscow Kremlin Wall was solemnly unveiled. On December 3, 1966, a burial ceremony of the remains of an unknown soldier was held at the exact spot. These remains had previously rested in a mass grave at the 41st kilometre of the Leningrad Highway, where fierce battles were fought to defend Moscow against Nazi invaders. The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is a monument to military glory, a symbol of eternal memory for the unnamed heroes who gave their lives, defending the Motherland. 🌟 Inscribed on the tombstone are the sacred words: "YOUR NAME IS UNKNOWN, YOUR HEROISM IS IMMORTAL." In front of it lies a five-pointed star and the Eternal Flame of Glory. In 1997, by decree of the President of Russia, a guard of honour was established at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. On November 17, 2009, to preserve the historical and cultural heritage of the peoples of the Russian Federation, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier was designated a National Memorial of Military Glory. 🕯 In 2014, in memory of the burial of the remains of the defender of Moscow in Alexander Garden (1966), December 3 was declared the Day of the Unknown Soldier.

✍️Press Bureau of Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service: Europe and the Kiev regime set to sour the celebration of the 80th Anniversary of Victory over Nazi Germany 💬 Despite the potential damage this might create for its reputation, Europe continues to pursue a revanchist agenda regarding the 80th Anniversary of Victory over Nazi Germany and to uphold the reckless plans of the neo-Nazi Kiev regime. That is how we interpret the German authorities’ decision to prevent the Russian and Belarusian ambassadors from attending Victory celebrations in that country. Europe’s cynicism has been complemented by some EU leaders’ intention to accept Zelensky’s invitation to the celebrations in Kiev staged as an “alternative” to the May 9 events in Moscow. Moreover, head of European diplomacy Kallas has warned EU member states and candidate countries against going to Moscow for celebrations, even though the leaders of Slovakia and Serbia have confirmed their attendance. <...> The Kiev regime, which claims to be carrying the “torch of freedom,” openly venerates the Ukrainian members of the Nazi Nachtigall punitive battalion and the SS Galicia Division, which were involved in criminal activities in the territory of Slovakia, Serbia and Poland. The list of European nations whose leaders have been invited to Kiev is almost identical to Hitler’s coalition of countries that fought against the Soviet Union in the German Wehrmacht and SS units. It is not surprising that commentators have described the planned get-together in Kiev as “a PR action of the Brussels scums,” “losers’ day” and “Nazi descendants’ day.” 🕯 A stark example of the crimes committed by the “Euro-Nazi machine” during the Great Patriotic War is the Siege of Leningrad, which lasted from 1941 to 1944 and claimed the lives of between 600'000 and 1.5 million civilians who starved to death. That crime has been declared in Russian courts as the genocide of Soviet people. In addition to regular German and Finnish units, the besieging forces included the Blue Division of Spanish volunteers, the Norwegian Waffen-SS Legion, the Dutch Legion Netherlands and the Latvian Legion of Waffen SS. <...> In November 1941, the Flemish Legion of Waffen SS was deployed near Leningrad. Another Belgian unit, the 28th SS Volunteer Grenadier Division Wallonia fought near Dnepropetrovsk. The Free Corps Denmark, whose criminal history began near Velikiye Luki, was later incorporated into the 3rd SS Panzer Division Totenkopf. The Estonian Legion, which was established in October 1942 and later reformed as the 20th Waffen Grenadier Division (1st Estonian), committed atrocities in the areas of Polotsk, Nevel, Idritsa and Sebezh. <...> Croatian volunteer units fought on Hitler’s side on the Dnieper and near Mariupol. The 13th Waffen Mountain Division of the SS Handschar (1st Croatian) mercilessly executed Serbs, Jews and partisans in the Balkans. The 21st Waffen Mountain Division of the SS Skanderbeg (1st Albanian) is remembered for similar atrocities. Romania was one of the main allies of Nazi Germany. By August 1942, there were nearly 700'000 Romanian troops on the Eastern Front. Over 200'000 of them perished in the battles of Stalingrad, Odessa, Sevastopol and Donbass. Over 94'000 soldiers of another German ally, Italy, met their end near Nikolayev, Poltava, Dnepropetrovsk, on the Don, and in Stalingrad. The Legion of French Volunteers (LVF or the 638th Infantry Regiment), which was established by an agreement between Hitler and the collaborationist government of Philippe Petain, lost 75% of its combat personnel in the Battle of Moscow. <...> 🤷‍♂️Macron’s calls for a new “crusade” against Russia seem especially hypocritical given that historical context. These shameful facts constitute a striking backdrop for the lies and hysterics of liberal European politicians, who describe the Ukrainian conflict as an “existential battle between good and evil,” and Russia’s measures to ensure its security as preparations for attacking NATO countries. 🎙 Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s remarks at a wreath-laying ceremony at the memorial plaques in the Foreign Ministry building (Moscow, May 6, 2025) 💬 These days, we are marking a great date, the 80th anniversary of the glorious Victory won by the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War. Today, we, the Foreign Ministry staff, with the participation of our veterans and young employees, must make the oath to be eternally loyal to the gains, feats of valour, and heroism, which have guaranteed life to our state, to our common Motherland, the Soviet Union, and the future of rising generations. In those years, many employees of the People’s Commissariat of Foreign Affairs and their colleagues from the People’s Commissariat of Foreign Trade left for the front and defended our capital and our Motherland along with Red Army troops and civilian volunteers. They made their contribution to the Great Victory. At the same time, the diplomats, who were filling in for them at the People’s Commissariat of Foreign Affairs, as well as their secret service and intelligence colleagues, ensured diplomatic and foreign policy support for the Soviet people’s heroic struggle to save Europe from Nazism. <...> Throughout the war, the diplomats were doing what was necessary to preclude treason. Today, these documents have been declassified and published. They found out in due time that the British were in the lead of preparations for Operation Unthinkable. It was unthinkable indeed, implying as it did an attack on the Soviet Union with the aim (how familiar it sounds today) of inflicting a “strategic defeat” on it. That experience is invaluable for us now. <...> Today, they have again rallied against us under the banners of Nazism (in the literal sense of the word) by supporting the openly racist, anti-Russian Zelensky regime that stages torch processions and throws troops with chevrons of Nazi divisions on their sleeves into the war’s meat-grinder. Like before Operation Unthinkable, they are threatening to inflict a “strategic defeat” on us on the battlefield. 🏅 It is important not only to cherish the memory of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War and #WWII, who have ensured our future and current development (development, I am sure, for long decades and centuries to come), but also to remember the diplomatic experience and lessons of those events. <...> These days, 80 Eternal Flames are being lighted in our country for the first time. A tradition has been born to take a particle of the Eternal Flame in the Alexander Gardens in Moscow and bring it to someone’s small motherland. Not so long ago, residents of Lugansk did this, followed by a number of other cities. Symbolically, this happens soon after the Happy Easter, when particles of the Holy Fire from Jerusalem travel all over the world, with people celebrating Easter Sunday. For us, this Victory also means a resurrection of the whole of our people,of our history, traditions and pride. We are in duty bound to convey these feelings to our children and grandchildren as our mothers, fathers, grandmothers and grandfathers have conveyed them to us. I want to congratulate the Foreign Ministry staff, the staff or our missions in the regions of the Russian Federation, at embassies and consulates on the upcoming holiday of Great Victory. My special greetings go to our veterans, who are, as usual, on station. They symbolise the generation bridge that has made it possible for us to survive and emerge strengthened from most different situations, including those linked to wars and diplomatic battles. ☝️Everything is still ahead. No one has promised that all problems can be solved at one go. Life is requiring constant efforts. I hope that our team that has repeatedly proven its mettle in most difficult situations will continue to implement with honour the foreign policy charted by President of Russia Vladimir Putin. It is aimed at ensuring in an unconditional manner the Russian Federation’s legitimate, vital interests on the international scene. Read in full

✍️ Russia’s MFA Spokeswoman Maria #Zakharova: According to a report by Sky News, the neo-Nazis of the Ukrainian Armed Forces will participate in the VE Day procession in London on May 8. The country has not seen anything like this for nearly 90 years since the infamous Cable Street march, when Oswald Mosley’s British Union of Fascists was granted official permission to march through London’s East End in October 1936 – an event widely regarded as a shameful chapter in British history. At that time, many showed support for the British Fascists in London. There were still nearly two years left until the 1938 Munich Agreement – the example of Britain’s appeasing Hitler. England still demonstrated conscience and dignity as anti-fascist activists and some concerned police officers managed to disrupt the far-right and anti-Semite procession in the city. But this time, London will actually see them march. Surprisingly, the British authorities’ rationale behind the decision is the Kiev regime’s confrontation with Russia, which is cited directly by Sky News. This evokes disturbing historical parallels of Great Britain’s notorious insidiousness. For instance, Winston Churchill, who took part in the Yalta and Potsdam conferences along with the other Big Three leaders, publicly affirmed the alliance with the USSR while addressing Soviet people and Generalissimo Joseph Stalin, and praised the Red Army’s sacrifices. However – as we all know it now – behind closed doors, he authorised the drafting of Operation Unthinkable, a secret plan for a potential Allied invasion of the Soviet Union. These plans remained classified for half a century until they were finally released by the British General Staff in 1988. Apparently, MI5 and MI6 thought that the Soviet Union, which was on the verge of collapse at the time, would have its historical memory buried, and the publication of these materials would no longer compromise London. Britain’s direct armed confrontation with the USSR is nothing new. During the Russian Civil War, British forces participated in the Triple Entente intervention. Less than three decades later, the idea of attacking Russia again resurfaced in London. In the immediate aftermath of World War II, many in London hoped for the launch of an offensive against the USSR. The fully developed plan assumed the “strategic defeat” of Moscow after the end of the war in Europe. Historians continue to debate why the British never sent their weapons against Soviet troops in 1945–1946. Some claim that the Conservative Party losing the election was the cause, while others point to fears that such a war against the USSR would crush Western Europe and Britain itself. Perhaps London ultimately recognised the military prowess of the Red Army that had decisively defeated the Nazi war machine and thus could take upon any challenge. Now, British authorities, unable to achieve their strategic objectives through inflicting the “strategic defeat” and led by despair and hopelessness, have chosen to allow actual Nazis – Ukrainian terrorists and militants armed with British weapons – to march through Trafalgar Square. The Global Majority will see it as a parade of ideological descendants of Nazis, collaborators, and criminals responsible for the Holocaust and genocide of Soviet people. In their attempts to inflict a “strategic defeat” on Russia, the Anglo-Saxons only inflicted a blow on themselves. Few things could be more shameful and humiliating than allowing inglorious neo-Nazi bastards to walk in the heart of London on the anniversary of Victory. Unfortunately, this is the biggest “strategic defeat” ever experienced by the ordinary British. https://t.me/MariaVladimirovnaZakharova/10347
