Считаю нашу встречу своевременной. #ШОС в этом году отмечает юбилей. Важно организовать её работу таким образом, чтобы прозвучала и эта тема. Но главное – воплотить в жизнь принципиальные договорённости, уже одобренные главами государств, которые должны найти отражение в Уставе Организации и других документах. Будем с большим вниманием и готовностью слушать Ваши оценки. Подтвердим, как всегда, нашу поддержку действиям Секретариата по выполнению договорённостей глав государств. *** Вы отметили важную мысль относительно того, как на работе ШОС сказывается общая обстановка на международной арене. Действительно, огромному испытанию подвергаются не только отдельные государства, регионы, но и международные организации как формы продвижения коллективных внешнеполитических идей. Мне кажется, #ШОС в этом бурном океане выглядит очень достойно. Будем делать всё, чтобы попытки ослабить нашу Организацию, принизить её значение и роль в евразийских делах не увенчались успехом. Мы такие попытки наблюдаем. Внерегиональные страны активно работают в Центральной Азии и в других направлениях нашего общего евразийского континента. Видим кризисные явления и в Североатлантическом альянсе, и в ЕС. Наши западные коллеги считают, что раз у них кризис, то надо его навязать незападным объединениям по принципу, как в «Жестоком романсе» (помните?): «Не доставайся же ты никому», многосторонняя дипломатия, строительство нового мира. Уверен, что члены ШОС – группа зрелых, ответственных государств. Безусловно, видим большой потенциал возглавляемой Вами Организации в том, что касается решения проблем Евразии через позитив, диалог, конструктивные проекты в материальной сфере, в сфере логистики, в том, что мы называем Большим Евразийским партнёрством, и в сфере укрепления коллективной безопасности всех стран региона. У ШОС уникальное положение, потому что безопасность, торгово-экономические, социальные, транспортные проекты – всё это полностью вписывается в мандат нашей Организации. 🤝 С удовольствием послушаем Ваши конкретные оценки, отражающие видение Секретариата по дальнейшему движению вперёд.

🎙Opening remarks by Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov during his talks with SCO Secretary-General Nurlan Yermekbayev(April 3, 2026, Moscow) 💬Sergey Lavrov:In 2026,the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (#SCO) marks its 25th anniversary. It is important to organise the SCO’s work in a way that duly reflects this milestone. More importantly, however, we must implement the key agreements already approved by the Heads of State and ensure they are incorporated into the Organisation’s Charter and other documents. As always, we will reaffirm our support for the Secretariat’s efforts to implement the agreements reached by the Heads of State. *** You have raised an important point about the impact of the broader international situation on the SCO’s work. Indeed, it is not only individual states and regions that are being put to a serious test, but also international organisations as mechanisms for advancing collective foreign policy approaches. It seems to me that, amid this turbulent environment, the SCO is acquitting itself with dignity. We will do everything possible to ensure that attempts to weaken our Organisation and diminish its significance and role in Eurasian affairs do not succeed. ☝️We can see such attempts quite clearly. Extra-regional countries are becoming increasingly active in Central Asia and in other parts of our shared Eurasian continent. We also see signs of crisis within both the North Atlantic Alliance and the EU. Our Western colleagues seem to believe that, if they are in crisis, they should impose it on non-Western groupings as well, following the logic of: “If I can’t have it, no one will” – applied to multilateral diplomacy and the building of a new world order. I am confident that the SCO member states are a group of mature and responsible nations. We clearly see the great potential of the Organisation in addressing Eurasia’s challenges through positive action, dialogue, and constructive projects in the practical sphere, in logistics, in what we call the Greater Eurasian Partnership, and in strengthening the collective security of all countries in the region. The SCO holds a unique position, because security, trade, economic, social and transport projects all fall fully within the mandate of our Organisation. 🤝 We will be pleased to hear your specific assessments reflecting the Secretariat’s vision for the way forward. #RussiaSCO

🚀3 апреля 1966 года советская автоматическая межпланетная станция «Луна-10» вышла на орбиту Луны и стала первым в мире искусственным спутником ближайшего к Земле небесного тела. 👏Это был беспрецедентный научно-технический прорыв. 🌗Станция была запущена 31 марта 1966 года. За время работы станция совершила 460 оборотов вокруг Луны и функционировала 56 суток. За это время было проведено свыше 200 сеансов радиосвязи с Землёй. 🔎Была получена информация о гравитационном и магнитном полях Луны, магнитном шлейфе Земли, а также некоторые данные о химическом составе и радиоактивности поверхностных пород Луны. 🥇«Луна-10» передала в эфир мелодию «Интернационала», которая транслировалась на открытии XXIII съезда КПСС — это стало символическим демонстрационным моментом успеха советской космической программы.

🚀April 3, 1966 marked a historic milestone when the Soviet automatic interplanetary station Luna-10 entered lunar orbit, becoming the world’s first artificial satellite of the celestial body closest to Earth. 👏This achievement represented an unprecedented scientific and technological breakthrough. 🌗The station was launched on March 31, 1966. During its mission, it completed 460 orbits around the Moon and operated for 56 days. Over this period, more than 200 radio communication sessions with Earth were conducted. 🔎Luna-10 provided valuable data on the Moon’s gravitational and magnetic fields, the Earth’s magnetotail, as well as preliminary information on the chemical composition and radioactivity of the lunar surface rocks. 🥇Luna-10 transmitted the melody of “The Internationale,” which was broadcast during the opening of the 23rd Congress of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union—serving as a symbolic demonstration of the success of the Soviet space program.

#HistoryOfDiplomacy 📜 They say diplomacy has been a male-only profession. While in reality women have had a major role in foreign policy throughout history. In fact, diplomacy acquired a female dimension as early as in the 10th century when Princess Olga established ties with the Byzantine Empire. In the 18th century, for almost half a century, during the reigns of Elizabeth (Yelizaveta) Petrovna, Anna of Russia (Anna Ioannovna), and Cathrine the Great, women largely defined Russia’s foreign policy. They performed their diplomatic duties by corresponding not only with foreign monarchs, but also with the leading thinkers of their time. However, diplomatic service remained mostly dominated by men for quite a long time with very few women in official diplomatic roles until the 20th century. In this context, the story of our country’s first female ambassador, Alexandra #Kollontai, has special significance, and was also revolutionary. 📅 Born on March 31, 1872, Alexandra Kollontai benefited from homeschooling and was brilliantly educated. She became fluent in French, German, English and Finnish, and since a young age took a keen interest in social and political matters, with Nikolay Chernyshevsky, Alexander Herzen and Western socialists among her favourite authors. Already a prominent member of the revolutionary movement, after the 1917 October Revolution, Alexandra Kollontai was appointed the People's Commissar for Welfare of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic to become the world’s first female minister. ☝️ Kollontai was proactive in fighting for women’s rights and championed their economic empowerment, access to education and marital equality. It is thanks to her that expecting mothers obtained a leave from work during pregnancy and childbirth. She also was the one who initiated the effort to create a network of nurseries and kindergartens. In 1922, Alexander Kollontai was appointed Soviet Minister Plenipotentiary to Norway, which created an international sensation. Before that, not a single European country offered a woman the possibility to have a high diplomatic rank of this kind. During her assignment to Norway, Alexandra Kollontai succeeded in securing the recognition of the Soviet state by Norway. It is on her watch that the two countries signed a trade agreement and organised the delivery of 400,000 tonnes of Norwegian herring to the USSR. Kollontai continued her successful diplomatic career in Sweden where she served as USSR’s Plenipotentiary Ambassador and Envoy from 1930 to 1945, and helped improve the USSR’s relations with Sweden. ❗️ It was in September 1944 that Kollontai, already 72 years old, received a mission to make Finland withdraw from the war. She was to play one of the key roles during the talks. On September 19, 1944, Finland signed the Moscow Truce with the Soviet Union after cancelling its alliance with Germany and agreeing to a series of territorial concessions. 💬 Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrovmade the following statement on this stage in her career during the ceremony to unveil Alexandra Kollontai’s memorial plaque: One of the real achievements of this remarkable woman was that she took part in negotiations that led to Finland’s withdrawal from the war in 1944, which helped free up troops and send them to other fronts, saving lives of many Soviet soldiers. As a diplomat, Alexandra Kollontai focused on understanding people and their motives instead of just living by the protocol. She stood out for her humane attitude and flexibility, and the ability to find compromises even in the tensest situations. Alexandra Kollontai has proven that women can succeed as diplomats even in a conservative international environment. She came to symbolise the way the social status of women evolved in the world, and inspired many generations of women to become diplomats.

On December 4th, 2025, H.E. Oleg Petrenko, Ambassador of the Russian Federation, presented his letter of credence to the President of the State of Eritrea H.E. Isaias Afeworki. During the solemn ceremony the Russian diplomat noted the relation of friendship and cooperation between two countries based on mutual respect and confidence. The Ambassador confirmed the Russian commitments to constructive dialogue with Eritrea to develop multi-aspect and mutually beneficial cooperation in different spheres. He appreciated the role of Eritrea in maintenance of stability and security on African continent. The President of Eritrea H.E. Isaias Afeworki wished the Russian representative success in his duties and expressed the hope of continued fruitful cooperation between two countries.

On September 2nd, 2025 Russian Ambassador H.E. Mr.O.V.Petrenko met with High Commissioner for Culture and Sports (in rank of Minister) of Eritrea H.E. Mr. Z.Tekle. During the fruitful exchange of views, the parties examined the issues of developing cooperation between Russia and Eritrea in the fields of culture, sports and education, strengthening of legal basis of interaction, as well as possibilities of holding a Russian film festival in Asmara. Eritrean representative confirmed his participation in the XI St.Petersburg International United Cultures Forum (September 11-13).

On June 12th, 2025 at the Asmara Palace Hotel the Russian Embassy in Eritrea held an official reception dedicated to the Russia Day. The distinguished guests, including Ministers of the Government of Eritrea, Heads of diplomatic and consular missions of friendly countries, Representatives of international organizations, local business circles, scientific community, journalists, graduates of Soviet/Russian universities, and compatriots attended this solemn event. In his speech, Ambassador O.V. Petrenko highlighted the role of Russian diplomacy in modern times and the strengthening of ties between Russia and States of the African continent. He particularly noted the 30th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with Eritrea, which was celebrated in 2024, as well as the progressive development of Russian-Eritrean cooperation in various fields. The video presentations featuring Russia’s landmarks and the Victory Day parade held on May 9th, 2025 in Moscow were shown.

On May 9, a ceremonial event was held at the Russian Embassy in Asmara to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. It was attended by employees of the Embassy, members of their families and Russian citizens permanently residing and temporarily staying in Eritrea under private contracts. In the reception hall, a live broadcast of the air parade taking place in Moscow was shown, and congratulations from the President of Russia V.V. Putin were heard. The Russian Ambassador H.E. Mr. Oleg Petrenko made a welcoming speech, and stories of the military and labor achievements of veterans who defended the Motherland during the war were heard.

🎙Обращение Совета Федерации Федерального Собрания Российской Федерации к парламентам иностранных государств и народам мира о недопустимости фальсификации истории Второй мировой войны и реабилитации нацизма 💬 9 мая 2025 года исполняется 80 лет со дня исторической Победы Советского Союза в Великой Отечественной войне. Развязанная гитлеровской Германией и её сателлитами война привела к гибели 27 миллионов граждан СССР. Миллионы людей стали узниками нацистских лагерей смерти, лишились крова, были угнаны на принудительные работы в Германию и подконтрольные ей страны. Великая Победа стала возможной благодаря стойкости и мужеству советского народа, его твёрдой решимости нанести поражение нацизму, ставшему угрозой для всего человечества. Важный вклад в разгром Третьего рейха внесли союзники СССР по антигитлеровской коалиции. Международный военный трибунал для суда и наказания главных военных преступников европейских стран оси (Нюрнбергский трибунал) признал главарей нацистского режима виновными в том числе в преступлениях против мира, военных преступлениях, преступлениях против человечности. Факты изгнания и истребления нацистами и их пособниками мирного населения СССР, установленные в приговоре Нюрнбергского трибунала, должны расцениваться как геноцид народов Советского Союза. Благодаря Победе СССР и его союзников над нацизмом были созданы условия для формирования современной системы международных отношений и учреждена Организация Объединённых Наций (ООН). Принципы международного права, признанные Уставом Нюрнбергского трибунала и нашедшие выражение в приговоре Нюрнбергского трибунала, подтверждены резолюцией Генеральной Ассамблеи ООН 95(I) от 11 декабря 1946 года. Совет Федерации Федерального Собрания Российской Федерации поддерживает ежегодное принятие Генеральной Ассамблеей ООН резолюции «Борьба с героизацией нацизма, неонацизмом и другими видами практики, которые способствуют эскалации современных форм расизма, расовой дискриминации, ксенофобии и связанной с ними нетерпимости», а также принятую Генеральной Ассамблеей ООН резолюцию 79/272 от 4 марта 2025 года «Восьмидесятая годовщина окончания Второй мировой войны», соавторами которой стали 54 государства. Сенаторы Российской Федерации выражают обеспокоенность расширением Организации Североатлантического договора и включением в её состав внеблоковых европейских государств, милитаризацией Европейского союза и поддержкой им неонацистского режима на Украине. Именно в Европе начались две мировые войны. Поэтому на ней лежит особая ответственность перед человечеством за предотвращение нового глобального противостояния. ☝️Отрицание решающего вклада СССР в Победу антигитлеровской коалиции над Германией и её сателлитами, героизация нацистских преступников и их пособников, снос и осквернение памятников советским воинам-освободителям аморальны и кощунственны. Совет Федерации Федерального Собрания Российской Федерации обращается к парламентам иностранных государств и народам мира с призывом противодействовать любым попыткам фальсификации истории, реабилитации и героизации нацизма, фашизма и милитаризма, осудить поощрение неонацистского режима на Украине, разжигание новой мировой войны, а также требовать привлечения к ответственности тех, кто оскорбляет память о борцах с фашизмом и воинах-освободителях. ❗️ Только общими усилиями мы можем защитить правду о Второй мировой войне, противодействовать подъёму неонацизма, не допустить повторения кровавых преступлений против человечества.
