On April 2, 2024, Russian-Eritrean negotiations on military and military-technical cooperation were held at the residence of the President of Eritrea in Massawa. The sides exchanged views and proposals for developing in these areas and outlined further steps for cooperation. 2 апреля в резиденции президента Эритреи в Массауа прошли российско-эритрейские переговоры по вопросам военного и военно-технического сотрудничества. Стороны обменялись мнениями и предложениями по развитию взаимодействия в этих сферах, наметили дальнейшие шаги кооперации.

On April 2, 2024, the President of the State of Eritrea H.E. Mr. Isaias Afwerki, accompanied by Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Navy of the Russian Federation, Admiral Vladimir Kasatonov visited the frigate of the Russian Pacific Fleet "Marshal Shaposhnikov". The navy frigate arrived with a friendly visit at the Eritrean port "Massawa". The Eritrean leader got acquainted with the technical capabilities, various types of weapons and the history of the frigate. President H.E. Mr. Afwerki left a note in the Book of Honorary Guests. In memory of his visit to the ship, Head of State was given an officer's cap and sailor's vest.

Президент Государства Эритрея Исайяс Афеворки в сопровождении замкомандующего ВМФ России адмирала В.Л.Касатонова посетил 2 апреля фрегат Тихоокеанского флота России "Маршал Шапошников", который прибыл в эритрейский порт Массауа с дружественным визитом. Лидеру Эритреи были продемонстрированы технические возможности корабля, показаны различные виды вооружения, рассказано об истории и проведенных модернизациях фрегата. Президент И.Афеворки оставил запись в журнале почетных гостей. В память о посещении корабля ему были вручены офицерская фуражка и тельняшка.

Russian military delegation headed by Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Navy of the Russian Federation, Admiral Vladimir Kasatonov has arrived in Eritrea on Monday evening. The visit is held following agreements reached by the Presidents of Russia and Eritrea during negotiations on May and July 2023. Российская военная делегация во главе с заместителем командующего военно-морским флотом Российской Федерации адмиралом В.Л.Касатоновым прибыла в Эритрею для обсуждения вопросов оборонного сотрудничества. Визит организован в развитие договоренностей президентов России и Эритреи, достигнутых в ходе переговоров в Москве и Санкт-Петербурге в мае и июле 2023 года.

The first time in 30 years of diplomatic relations between Russia and Eritrea the Russian Navy frigate arrived at the Eritrean port "Massawa". Navy frigate of the Russian Pacific Fleet "Marshal Shaposhnikov" will stay in Eritrea until April 5, 2024. Russian sailors will hold the joint events with representatives of the Eritrea Navy and will exchange experiences. Первый за 30 лет дипломатических отношений между Россией и Эритреей корабль ВМФ России прибыл в эритрейский порт Массауа. Фрегат российского Тихоокеанского флота "Маршал Шапошников" пробудет в Эритрее до 5 апреля. Российские моряки проведут ряд совместных мероприятий с представителями ВМС Эритреи, обменяются опытом морской службы.

23 марта президент Эритреи Исайяс Афеворки и министр иностранных дел Осман Салех направили письма соболезнования Президенту России В.В.Путину и Министру иностранных дел С.В.Лаврову в связи с террористическим актом в Крокус Сити Холле. Официальные лица Эритреи решительно осудили этот террористический акт, выразили поддержку руководству России, российскому народу и семьям погибших, а также пожелали скорейшего выздоровления пострадавшим. On March 23, 2024 the President of the State of Eritrea H.E.Mr.Isaias Afwerki and Foreign Minister H.E.Mr.Osman Saleh send letters of condolences to the President of the Russian Federation H.E.Mr.Vladimir Putin and Russian Foreign Minister H.E.Mr.Sergei Lavrov on the terrorist act at the Crocus City Hall in Moscow. The Eritrean officials strongly condemned this act of terror and expressed their support to the Russian leadership, Russian people and bereaved families, as well as wished quick recovery of those injured.

Стороны обсудили пути реализации двусторонних документов о сотрудничестве в сфере культуры и спорта, подписанных в прошлом году. On March 22, 2024, Russian Ambassador to Eritrea H.E.Mr.Igor Mozgo met with the Commissioner of Culture and Sports of the State of Eritrea, Ambassador Zemede Tekle. The sides discussed possible ways of realization of bilateral agreements in culture and sport, signed in 2023.

Президент Эритреи Исайас Афеворки направил поздравление Президенту России В.В.Путину в связи с его убедительной победой на президентских выборах 17 марта 2024 года. Соответствующее сообщение опубликовано на сайте министерства информации Эритреи. President of the State of Eritrea Isaias Arwerki sent message of congratulations to President of the Russian Federation H.E. Mr.Vladimir Putin. The Ertrean leader congratulated the Russian President on his landslide victory in the elections on March 17, 2024.

17 марта 2024 года в Посольстве России в Асмэре проходит голосование по выборам Президента Российской Федерации. На избирательный участок приходят сотрудники посольства и граждане России, постоянно проживающие в Эритрее и работающие здесь по частным контрактам. On March 17, 2024, Embassy's staff and Russian citizens living and working in Eritrea come to the Poling Station opened at the Embassy to vote on the Presidential election.
