🇷🇺REGIONS OF RUSSIA🇷🇺 🎉On April 7, 1946, Kaliningrad Oblast was established. 🗺️The region lies on the shores of the Baltic Sea. Its mild maritime climate, sandy beaches and coniferous forests make it especially attractive at any time of the year. 🏰In the region different eras intertwine in a remarkable way: medieval castles, Gothic architecture, a German past and Soviet history all coexist within the same space. 👏The Curonian Spit with its sand dunes is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. 🪎One of the defining features of the region is amber. Around 90% of the world’s reserves of this “sunstone” are found here. 📚The outstanding German philosopher Immanuel Kant lived and worked in Kaliningrad (Königsberg). 🧀The famous Tilsit cheese was created in the mid-19th century in Tilsit (today's Sovetsk). 🐟In Kaliningrad cuisine fish and seafood hold a special place: smoked eel, herring and cod dishes are gastronomic symbols of the region. #RegionsofRussia#Russia#Kaliningradoblast
