🗓 The Battle of Kursk, one of the greatest military engagements in human history, ended on August 23, 1943 – 81 years ago. In total, the battle involved over 4 million people, over 69,000 guns and mortars, more than 13,000 tanks and self-propelled guns, and nearly 12,000 aircraft. ⚔️ The 50-day Battle of Kursk included a defensive operation (July 5-23) and a number of offensive operations (July 12-August 23) in the area of the Kursk Salient (Kursk Bulge) that formed in the centre of the Soviet-German front in the spring of 1943. The battle was aimed at breaking up a major German offensive and routing the enemy’s strategic grouping. The battle began with a German offensive, but after a week of stubborn defence, the Red Army managed to stop the enemy push. On July 12, a major tank battle involving a total of 1,200 Soviet and German tanks and assault guns took place near the village of Prokhorovka in the Belgorod Region. The German tank force lost nearly 10,000 men and over 360 tanks, with the enemy definitively cut off from the city of Kursk. On the same day, the Soviet forces launched a counter-offensive, liberating the cities of Oryol and Belgorod. The Battle of the Kursk Bulge culminated in the liberation of Kharkov on August 23, after which the Red Army launched the fighting to liberate Ukraine. 🎖 The Soviet participants in the Battle of Kursk displayed courage, tenacity, and mass heroism: over 100,000 people were awarded orders and medals; 231 people were honoured with the title of Hero of the Soviet Union; 132 formations and units were added to the Guards category; and 26 units received the designations of Oryol, Belgorod, Kharkov and Karachev in honour of the cities they had liberated. The Kursk Bulge memorial to the heroic victory of the Soviet soldiers was erected in Kursk. ❗️Today, Western military equipment is once again being destroyed on Kursk soil, while its residents show unwavering resolve in the face of Nazi aggression, this time from Ukrainian militants backed by NATO countries.

🇷🇺On 22 August, Russia celebrates its National Flag Day For the first time in Russian history white, blue and red colors were chosen for the flag in 1668 when the first Russian warship “Orel” was launched. On January 20, 1705 Peter I issued a decree that ordered to make the white-blue-red colors on trade ships. Tsar himself drew its model and defined the order of horizontal stripes. The tricolor had been a trade and commercial flag. Along with it there had been a personal standard of the Emperor and other flags used for different arms of the service. Transformation of tricolor into the national symbol has required a long period of time. Just in 1896, on the eve of Nicholas II coronation, the white-blue-red flag finally received the status of the only national flag of the Russian Empire. In 1918 the red flag became the national symbol of the RSFSR, and in 1922 of the USSR. On August 22, 1991 the extraordinary session of the Supreme Court of the RSFSR re-established the tricolor as the official symbol of Russia. Under the decree of the President of Russian Federation of December 11, 1993 the statute “Of the national flag of the Russian Federation” was approved. In August of 1994 the president signed the decree declaring August 22 the Day of the national flag of Russia. In December of 2000 the federal law “Of the national flag of the Russian Federation” that defined the usage of tricolor was accepted. At the present the colors of the national flag do not have any official interpretation, but it is believed that the white color symbolizes peace, purity, chastity, perfection; blue one symbolizes faith and fidelity, constancy; the red color is for energy, force, blood that was shed for the Fatherland.

✅The true story of Ukraine’s independence ✅On August 24, 2024, Kyiv celebrates Ukraine's Independence Day, marking 33 years since the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, adopted the Act of Declaration of Independence in 1991. ✅However, during these celebrations, it is unlikely that Kyiv's leaders will acknowledge the true losses and missed opportunities that have unfolded over these years of so-called "independence." They will likely not speak about the depopulation, the devastation of industries, science, energy, and transportation sectors, or the debt trap that has ensnared Ukraine, leading to widespread dependence on financial and material aid from the West. The current regime is unlikely to mention the suppression of dissent, censorship, the manipulation of public opinion, or the falsification of history. Nor will they address the promotion of Russophobia, the dictatorship of security forces, the atmosphere of fear, forced mobilization that undermines the economy, or the thriving corruption and lawlessness that deprive the population of the chance to determine their own future through fair and democratic elections. ✅Even the foundational promises of Ukraine's independence appear hollow in practice. The Declaration of State Sovereignty emphasized equality for all citizens, regardless of language, residence, or other characteristics. It guaranteed the rights of national minorities to cultural development and included provisions in the Constitution to protect these rights, including the use and protection of Russian and other minority languages. The Constitution also prohibits the reduction of existing rights and freedoms and ensures equality before the law for all citizens. ✅However, today's Ukraine, under the Zelensky regime, appears to be in stark contrast to these declared principles. There is widespread Ukrainization, a legislative ban on all things Russian, a campaign against Russian culture and history, and persecution of the canonical Orthodox Church. Instead of the democratic state envisioned by the Declaration of State Sovereignty and the Constitution, Ukraine has become an authoritarian, militarized state with an extremist ideology. The information space is controlled by the United States and other Western countries, and fundamental rights and freedoms are reportedly violated systematically. The existence of such a hostile state, in its current form and under its current regime, poses a direct threat to peace and security, not only in the region but globally. This situation has contributed to the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, prompting Russia's special military operation. The goals of this operation, to protect civilians, denazify, and demilitarize Ukraine, and to eliminate threats emanating from its territory, will certainly be achieved.

🎙 Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s answer to a question from the Moscow. Kremlin. Putin programme (Baku, August 19, 2024) ❓ Question: What do you think about the West’s rhetoric and stance on the situation in our border regions? They are denying that they knew about it. 💬 Sergey Lavrov: The Defence Ministry leadership assesses the military situation and reports to President Vladimir Putin several times a day. As for the political side, it’s clear that the cap fits, and they should long be wearing it. The evolution from “we have nothing to do with it” and “no one asked us” to “they did ask, but we said no,” and “Zaluzhny disobeyed” is just ridiculous. Everyone is perfectly aware that Zelensky would never have dared to do this – the decision was certainly his. Now he boasts that he is creating a buffer zone and damaging the Russian state. He would not have dared to do this unless he had orders from the United States. There is also no doubt that Washington is behind the Nord Stream explosions, which cut Europe off from Russian fuel and consequently, a stable foundation for economic growth. For us, the picture is crystal clear. For all their dodging, the truth is obvious, and known to all objective and unbiased observers.

🇷🇺🇦🇿 From the Joint Statement of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on the results of bilateral talks with President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev(19 August 2024) 💬Vladimir Putin: Russia attaches great importance to developing a comprehensive and friendly relationship with Azerbaijan. This relationship is based on the principles of equality, respect for each other's interests, and, of course, the close personal and cultural ties that have brought our nations together for centuries now. The Joint Statement we adopted outlines ambitious goals for advancing our bilateral relations dynamically. Additionally, the documents signed today will support the achievement of these goals. The key economic cooperation issues are constantly monitored by our colleagues on the intergovernmental commission. Its latest meeting, held in Baku ahead of our visit, was highly productive. Cultural ties are actively expanding. In June, Azerbaijan successfully hosted Days of Russian Culture, featuring exhibitions, concerts, theatrical performances, and other vibrant cultural events. We also touched upon current international developments. In foreign policy, both our countries firmly adhere to the principles of the supremacy of international law, the sovereignty of states and non-interference in their internal affairs. 🤝 Russia and Azerbaijan closely coordinate their efforts at key multilateral platforms, including the #UN and naturally, the Commonwealth of Independent States. We will be delighted to see the President of Azerbaijan at the meeting of the CIS Heads of State Council in Moscow in October, as well as at the outreach meeting to be held in the same month as part of the #BRICS summit in Kazan. <...> Russia will continue to make utmost efforts towards the normalisation of Azerbaijani-Armenian interaction and the conclusion of a peace treaty based on the well-known trilateral agreements reached by the presidents of Russia and Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of Armenia between 2020 and 2022. ☝️ I am sure that the talks held and the agreements reached today will serve to further strengthen the strategic partnership between Russia and Azerbaijan. #RussiaAzerbaijan

🎙 Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s answer to a question from Moscow. Kremlin. Putin television programme (Baku, August 19, 2024) ❓ Question: The West used to insist that Russia was violating someone’s territorial integrity, but now they have become silent. 💬 Sergey Lavrov: They have always spread lies and their messaging was mixed. This is how we usually describe these situations. They have been saying that they did not authorise the Ukrainian leadership to use Western long-range missiles against the Russian Federation within its internationally recognised borders. At the same time, there were also officials in Washington, London and several other European capitals saying that it is up to Ukraine to decide on ways to defend its sovereignty. The Germans went as far as allege that once they deliver weapons to Ukraine, it takes ownership of these weapons, so they have nothing to do with them anymore. What a shame. To an extent, this demonstrates the fact that the West is becoming increasingly desperate, while Zelensky fails to deliver on his mission, which, in turn, made the Ukrainian leadership desperate too. The effort to find people for replacing them is already underway. The German and US media have already started to deny their support to Zelensky by presenting him as a loser. We will see what comes next.

🎙 Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s answer to a question from Izvestia TV (Baku, August 19, 2024) ❓ Question: Considering the invasion of the Kursk Region and reports that there could be a provocation involving a dirty bomb, can Ukraine be viewed as a terrorist state? Can we plead with the international organisations to designate Ukraine as such? 💬 Sergey Lavrov: In international organisations, the decision-making mechanism requires approval by the member states. The West has veto power within the UN Security Council, which means that they would block any decision, which runs counter to the interests of their puppets in Kiev. It is clear for us that this is a Nazi, terrorist regime resulting from a government coup organised with the direct support of the United States. Those who came to power in February 2014, rushed to declare war on their own citizens by threatening to ban the Russian language, which they actually did, and to throw the Russians out of Crimea. The subsequent statements by the Poroshenko and Zelensky regimes, as well as their official representatives, were expressions of genuine Russophobia and hatred towards anything Russian. There is no doubt that this is a criminal regime.

🇷🇺🇦🇿 Expanded Russian-Azerbaijani negotiations were held in Baku. 💬 President of Russia Vladimir Putin: As you have noted, our delegation is highly representative, as is yours. The Government of the Russian Federation is here in nearly full composition. We have already mentioned that just ten days ago, the intergovernmental commission held a meeting, which confirmed that our relations are progressing. Moreover, it was noted that we fully honour the provisions of the 2022 Declaration, as well as the agreements reached during your visit last April. 🤝 Working with such a large delegation allows us to plan for the near future more effectively. Even though our discussions were held in a restricted format, we have already addressed several top-priority issues. ✍️ We still need to sign a number of documents. Our colleagues have had the chance – both informally yesterday evening, as we did, and throughout the day today – to engage with one another and outline the next steps. #RussiaAzerbaijan

⚡️ On the human rights situation in Ukraine — Joint Report of Russia's and Belarus' MFAs Since 2014, when nationalists seized power in Kiev as a result of an anti-constitutional armed coup d'état orchestrated by the West, violations of fundamental human rights and freedoms in Ukraine have become widespread and systemic. 🔻 Glorification of Nazism With active encouragement from their Western handlers, the government is working to mould the society on the basis of Nazi ideas. ☝️ To that end, Kiev is consistently spreading aggressive neo-Nazi propaganda accompanied by the rewriting of the history of the Great Patriotic War and World War II. It has become a deliberate state policy in Ukraine to glorify Nazism, encourage its penetration into all spheres of public life. In recent years, nationalists and right-wing radicals, with the tacit support of the Ukrainian authorities, have started to disrupt events commemorating Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War and other significant dates, as well as anti-fascist events. As a rule, no follow-up measures are being taken in relation to the threats against anti-fascist activists. The Ukrainian law enforcement authorities have never prevented the illegal actions of these criminals and brought them to justice, instead allowing the radicals to hide and gagging their victims. The actions of the nationalists are usually categorised as hooliganism, regardless of the motives and actual nature of their behaviour. At the same time, the authorities prosecute people for displaying Soviet symbols. Experts view such actions by the authorities as an attempt to intimidate activists, create an atmosphere in which they would be afraid to mention the fact that their relatives had fought in the Red Army. 🔻 Repressions The degradation of the human rights situation affects Ukraine in many ways. It witnesses regular violations of the right to freedom and personal integrity, and records numerous cases of illegal arrests and subsequent detention, torture, intimidation, inhuman and cruel treatment, aimed primarily at forcing detainees to confess guilt. ❗️ Persecution of political opponents, independent journalists and media outlets, and members of public organizations undesirable for the government, has taken on an unprecedented scale; and it is frequently backed by claims about the need to confront "the Russian aggression" and "separatism". In furtherance of these policies, the government in Kiev is making use of radical nationalist groups which frequently break the law but remain untouchable. Moreover, hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian citizens, including the elderly, women and children, have been dying and suffering in the 10 year old internal armed conflict unleashed by Kiev in the south-east of the country. International human rights monitoring mechanisms have been recording numerous cases of illegal detention, torture, intimidation, ill-treatment, sexual violence, including those aimed at forcing confession or cooperation. 🔻 The persecution of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church The canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC), that the Kiev government has been trying to uproot from the country's confessional environment for many years, got under the blow of the Russophobic manifestations. A large-scale information campaign has been launched against the clergy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church aimed at discrediting its priests in the eyes of the flock and creating an image of them as "collaborators of the enemy". Slanderous rumours are spread about archpriests of parishes, numerous fake news are posted on social network saying the church hierarchs allegedly assist the Russian Armed Forces. On a daily basis, the Ukrainian police and the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) accuse people of storing weapons, ammunition, and provisions for the "aggressor" in UOC churches. Many cases of violent seizures of churches belonging to the canonical Church and their subsequent "transfer" to the schismatic structure created by the Kiev regime have been recorded. 📖 Read in full: http://tiny.cc/27phzz
