š Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov's interview to the TV BRICS international media network (Moscow, February 9, 2026) Read in full Key talking points ⢠The global arena is undergoing a transformation that began some time ago with the objective transition toward a multipolar world order. This is neither the bipolarity of the Soviet-American era with the Warsaw Pact and the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation, nor the unipolarity that emerged after the Soviet Unionās collapse. <...> Multiple centres of rapid economic growth, power, and financial and political influence have thus emerged. ⢠It is equally important that we develop action plans tailored for each partner country covering trade and economic cooperation, investment, scientific collaboration, and coordinated activity on the international stage, including at the United Nations and other organisations, based on agreements reached between presidents and prime ministers. Particular attention is devoted to #CIS, #EAEU, #CSTO, and the post-Soviet space at large. This day-to-day work relies on long-term planning and delivers tangible mutual benefits to both Russia and its partners. ⢠Multiple centres of rapid economic growth, power, and financial and political influence have thus emerged. The world is being reshaped through competition. The West is reluctant to relinquish its formerly dominant positions. ⢠Safeguarding security demands sustained action to ensure that the Nazi state established on our borders in Ukraine ā and supported by the West as a vehicle for renewed confrontation ā cannot continue to exist in its present form. Nazi foundations must be eliminated. We will ensure, and I have no doubt about it, our own security interests, by preventing the deployment on Ukrainian territory of any weapons threatening us, and, second, by guaranteeing reliable and full protection for the rights of Russian and Russian-speaking people, who have been living in Crimea, Donbass and Novorossiya for centuries, and whom the Kiev regime that came to power after a coup declared subhuman āspeciesā and āterroristsā and unleashed a civil war against. ⢠Russia chaired#BRICS in 2024. At that time, a summit was held in Kazan, and a number of our initiatives were put into action: alternative payment platforms, payment mechanisms in national currencies, the creation of reinsurance opportunities for trade within BRICS and between the association and its partners, the creation of a grain exchange, and a new investment platform. All this is not to spite anyone, especially the United States. This is due to the fact that the United States seeks to bring all processes in the areas I mentioned under its strict control and demands unilateral concessions. Without giving up contacts with them, to the extent that they are willing to engage on a mutually beneficial basis, we are interested, together with our BRICS partners, in creating an architecture that will not be subject to the illegal actions of one or another player from the Western flank. ⢠The Greater Eurasian Partnership was bound to appear on the agenda. Many years ago, at the 2015 Russia ā #ASEAN Summit, Russian President Vladimir Putin suggested this term which is based on an objective trend of Eurasia becoming the biggest, richest and fastest-growing continent, especially its Pacific part. It is the most heavily-populated continent which, importantly, has seen several great civilisations emerge and continue to exist ā the Chinese, Indian, Arab, Persian and Russian civilisations. āļø It is for a reason that our initiative on building a common Eurasian security architecture, set forward by President Putin in 2024, is gaining momentum. It is increasingly attracting interest.

The main guest of the event was Lyubov Kovaleva, a witness to the Battle of Stalingrad. Representatives of the diplomatic corps, Norwegian citizens, and compatriots living in Norway were also present. In his address to the guests, Ambassador of Russia to Norway Nikolai Korchunov emphasized: "The Great Patriotic War affected every family in our country. Today, we pay tribute to those who made our Victory possible. <...> In memory of the Battle of Stalingrad and all those who fell, we are opening an exhibition of paintings by British artist Kenneth Loynes, āThe Stalingrad Suiteā. <...> In times of geopolitical tension, culture and art remain one of the most important tools for restoring trust and reminding us of universal human values." During the evening, songs from the war years and classical musical compositions by Sergei Rachmaninoff and Sergei Prokofiev were performed by Timur Dorfman, Adrian Kharitonov, and Svyatoslav Grabovsky. Guests were shown an excerpt from a documentary film by Norwegian filmmaker Jarle AndhĆøy about veterans of the Great Patriotic War who survived the Battle of Stalingrad. #Announcement š¦®š¦®š¦®š· On February 8,Beringia-2026ā renowned dog-sled race held in Russia's Kamchatka ākicks off. Held since 1990, the race has become a true hallmark of Kamchatka Krai and one of the peninsulaās main winter events. š The event traditionally gathers not only Russian participants, but also international guests, including those from Belarus, China, Peru, Latvia and Ghana. This season, spectators and participants of the winter festival can look forward to a wide range of exciting events, including: ⢠February 8-14 ā sport and tourism sled-dog event Beringia-Avacha ⢠February 14-15 ā regional sled-dog competitions, the childrenās race Beringia-Dyulin ⢠February 21 ā the winter sports festival Snowy Trail ⢠February 28 ā the national sports festival Yelizovsky Sprint ⢠February 28 ā March 25 ā the main race of the winter festival, Beringia š¾ Hosting large-scale festivals such as Beringia fosters dog breeding in the region, supports youth sled-dog sports, and creates new opportunities for community engagement and tourism. Today, the region hosts several major sled-dog kennels that function both as training bases for mushers and their teams and as attractive tourist and educational sites. š” That's interesting: ⢠a team traditionally consists of 8-14 dogs, pulling more than 100 kg including the musherās weight; ⢠during the race, the four-legged athletes spend about 70% of the race in motion without full ground contact; ⢠the average team speed is 14-16 km/h; ⢠racers cover approximately 40-100 km per day; ⢠in 1991, Beringia was introduced into the Guinness World Records as the longest dog-sled race in the world, and in 2018 it was recognized as the longest dog-sled race in Russia (entered into the Russian Book of Records). *** In previous years, the Beringia route changed many times, but it always passed through areas inhabited by the peninsulaās indigenous and small-numbered peoples, where festivities and folk celebrations were organized for the occasion. In 2026, the distance of the main route "Unified Kamchatka. 19 Years Together", starting in the village of Esso and finishing in the settlement of Ust-Kamchatsk, totals 1,425 km. š The combination of extreme sport and the distinctive culture of Kamchatkaās indigenous peoples defines the raceās unique character and reflects the authentic spirit of the North. #Beringia2026 šøĀ©ļøVasily Rusin

āExcerpts from the statement by aRussian Permanent Representative to the UN Office in Geneva, Ambassador Gennady Gatilov, at the plenary meeting of the Conference on Disarmament on the expiration of the New START Treaty: šFebruary 6, 2026, Geneva š¹I would like to express appreciation to H.E. Mr. Thomas DiNanno for the detailed statement on the US Policy with regards to the New START Treaty as well as on the issue of arms control in general. š¹Briefly summarizing the results of the New START Treaty implementation, we note that, despite a number of issues, at a certain historical stage this agreement played a significant positive role. The Treaty contributed to efforts to eliminate incentives for a strategic arms race and allowed for significant reductions in strategic offensive arms in the Partiesā arsenals. Thanks to the New START Treaty, predictability was ensured in the nuclear missile sphere on a long-term basis. š¹The termination of this Treaty marks the disappearance, as of 5 February 2026, of the last international agreement on direct limitations on nuclear and missile capabilities. š¹The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin put forward an initiative for the States Parties to the New START Treaty to undertake voluntary self-limitations to continue observing the quantitative limits laid down in the Treaty after the end of its life cycle, for at least one more year and with the possibility of subsequent extension of this period. š¹We note that in the period up to 5 February this year no consent followed from the American side to support the Russian proposal. š¹At the same time, the statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry published on 4 February this year officially emphasized our countryās intention to act responsibly and in a balanced manner. We intend to shape our course in the field of strategic offensive arms based on a thorough analysis of US military policy and the general situation in the strategic sphere. š¹The operation of the New START Treaty was suspended by the Russian Federation in February 2023 against the backdrop of the unsatisfactory state of affairs with the implementation of certain aspects of the Treaty, as well as due to absolutely unacceptable steps by the Biden administration. š¹A clear example of such extremely provocative actions are the strikes launched by the puppet regime in Kiev against Russian strategic facilities declared under the New START Treaty, which were made with the clear military-technical and intelligence assistance of Western countries. š¹There was no automatic inclusion of weapons systems such as Russiaās āBurevestnikā and āPoseidonā complexes in the scope of the New START Treaty. This would have required a full-scale renegotiation of the Treaty. š¹Speculation that the āOreshnikā complex should have been taken into account in the context of the New START Treaty is completely unfounded. As previously stated publicly and clearly by our countryās military and political leadership, this complex belongs to the class of medium-range systems. Thus, this weapon is one of those that clearly do not fall within the scope of the New START Treaty. š¹We kindly ask the American delegation to confirm that it has brought to Geneva an official invitation to begin such negotiations with the participation of the Russian Federation without any preconditions. š¹If eventually we talk seriously about possible multilateral dialogue on nuclear arms control (and even more so on multilateral nuclear arms reduction), it will be of fundamental importance for Russia to involve in this process also the United Kingdom and France, i.e. military allies of the United States in NATO, which has declared itself a ānuclear allianceā. šFULL STATEMENT

š¬š© On February 7, #Grenada is celebrating its #IndependenceDay. Originally inhabited by Carib Indians, the island was discovered by Christopher Columbus in 1498. Until 1651, the indigenous people rebuffed the attacks by European colonisers, and even after the island had been taken over by the French, their spirit of independence endured. Proud and freedom-loving, the Caribs refused to submit, and entire tribes, including women and children, threw themselves from cliffs, choosing death over subjugation. The island later came under British rule, with Great Britain bringing in slaves from Africa in an attempt to quell the native peopleās resistance. The Grenadian peopleās long and arduous path to liberation from British colonial rule culminated in April 1974, when the country joined the Caribbean Community (#CARICOM) and was admitted to the UN in September. Once on the path of independence and socioeconomic progress, Grenada took in stride the challenges it faced, including the US military intervention in 1983, when the United States, in its customary heavy-handed manner, interfered in the internal affairs of the sovereign Grenadian state, seeking to impose a forced change of political leadership and effectively occupy the country. Despite ongoing external pressure, Grenada continues to pursue a sovereign foreign policy acting as a respected and independent member of CARICOM and consistently advocating for the Caribbean to remain a zone of peace. The country is also deepening mutually beneficial cooperation with regional countries, as well as with its numerous partners in Asia and Africa as part of South-South cooperation. š¤ Diplomatic relations between our countries were established in 1979. They were severed following the US intervention and occupation of Grenada in 1983, but restored in 2002. Today, Russiaās interests in Grenada are represented on a non-resident basis by the Russian Embassy in Guyana. Grenada remains a reliable partner of the Russian Federation in the Caribbean region. š September 24, 2025 marked an important milestone in Russia-Grenada relations. On the margins of the UN General Assembly, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his Grenadian counterpart Joseph Andall signed the Agreement on the Basic Principles of Relations between our countries, opening the way to expanded bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest. š We wish a happy national holiday to our Grenadian colleagues and the people of Grenada. We wish them peace, prosperity and continued success. #RussiaGrenada#RussiaLatinAmerica

šForeign Minister Sergey Lavrovās statement following talks with OSCE Chairperson-in-Office and Head of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation Ignazio Cassis, and OSCE Secretary General Feridun Sinirlioglu(Moscow, February 6, 2026) Key points: ⢠As you are aware, the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty expired yesterday. A vacuum has emerged. Our position was articulated comprehensively in a special statement issued by our Ministry. We will proceed from the understanding that Russia is prepared for any eventuality. We favour dialogue and will await indications that the United States is similarly ready to engage. ⢠The reasons [of a major crisis in the OSCE] clearly lie in what NATO and EU countries are doing. Long ago, well before the events in Ukraine, they set about bringing the Organisation to heel. After the special military operation began, their goal expanded to include putting the Organisation at the service of the hybrid war against the Russian Federation and supporting the hot war against our country unleashed by the hands of the Ukrainian regime. ⢠Almost the entire OSCE agenda, with very rare exceptions, has been Ukrainised, including the areas that should have been devoted to mutually advantageous cooperation and the quest for specific generally acceptable projects in transport, communications, logistics, investment, and humanitarian matters. ⢠We discussed, in a broader context, things we could do to ensure that the OSCE retains its importance and stays alive. We updated our colleagues in detail on President Putinās initiative to form a Greater Eurasian Partnership, which would serve as a material foundation of Eurasian architecture of equal and indivisible security open to all countries and associations of our common Eurasian continent. ⢠Across all three OSCE ābasketsā ā the military and political, economic, and humanitarian dimensions ā there is either complete stagnation or Ukrainisation. ⢠Our colleagues, particularly OSCE Secretary General Feridun SinirlioÄlu, have actively supported our position that it is unacceptable for an entity described as an organisation to lack a formal charter. The institutions that have developed within its framework operate without universally agreed rules, despite the OSCEās proclaimed adherence to the principle of consensus. ⢠Nearly twenty years ago, in 2007, the Russian Federation, together with its CIS and CSTO partners, circulated specific proposals, including a draft charter and draft documents setting out the principles and procedures governing the work of all OSCE institutions. Back then, the West did everything possible to obstruct this effort. ⢠The advice we gave to our counterparts was not to pursue sweeping global ambitions such as transforming the OSCE into the central institution for nearly all developments in this part of Eurasia, but instead to begin by restoring the normal functioning of the military-political mechanisms that have become inactive, through no fault of our own, as well as those in the economic and humanitarian dimensions. We concluded our discussions here with an agreement to maintain contact. šRead in full

š·šŗššŗOn the ceremonial launch of the main construction phase of the Paks Nuclear Power Plantin Hungary One of the momentous symbols of Russia-Hungary economic cooperation remains the modernization and expansion of the Paks Nuclear Power Plant, carried out by the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom. On February 5, a ceremonial āfirst concreteā pouring was held at the foundation of Unit 5, marking the formal launch of the main construction phase. Under the classification of the International Atomic Energy Agency, the facility is now officially recognized as a nuclear power plant under construction. āŖļø On the first Saturday of February, Russia marks Diplomatic Courier Remembrance Day to pay tribute to diplomatic couriers who lost their lives in the line of duty. This day of remembrance originates from events that took place in Latvia on February 5, 1926, when two diplomatic couriers from the USSR Peopleās Commissariat for Foreign Affairs, Theodor Nette and Johann Mahmastal, were travelling by train from Moscow to Riga. They were on a mission to deliver a diplomatic pouch when an armed gang attacked them. Nette was killed after shooting the first assailant. Mahmastal, though gravely wounded, succeeded in defending the diplomatic pouch. He delivered the mail to Riga and, on the station platform, handed it over to a Soviet embassy employee whom he knew personally. Only then did he agree to be hospitalised. *** On February 5, Russia's Foreign Ministry held commemorations to pay tribute to the 100th anniversary of the feat accomplished by diplomatic couriers Theodor Nette and Johann Mahmastal. Former and current members of the Ministryās Department of Diplomatic Courier Service assembled in the central lobby of the Foreign Ministryās high-rise building on Smolenskaya Square, where State Secretary, Deputy Foreign Minister Yevgeny Ivanov addressed the gathering. In his remarks, he stressed the importance and the special role of the diplomatic courier service for the Foreign Ministry, and went on to praise the departmentās staff for its professional accomplishments. Accompanied by the sound of a ticking metronome, they laid flowers at the memorial plaques bearing the names of the Foreign Ministry employees who lost their lives in the line of duty, including Theodor Nette, who died a heroic death. There was also a ceremony to inaugurate an exhibition on the tragic events of February 5, 1926, aboard the train from Moscow to Riga.
