В рамках празднования 225-летия со дня рождения А.С.Пушкина сотрудники Посольства России в Эритрее посетили деревню Ади Лого в 20 км от столицы страны Асмэры, где по версии эритрейцев родился прадед русского поэта Ибрагим (Абрам) Ганнибал. Представители местной администрации показзали россиянам место, где располагался дом семьи Ибрагима, древнее дерево сикомора, которому более 350 лет и которое, по утверждению эритрейцев, принадлежало семье Ганнибала. Роспослу представили старейшего потомка Абрама Петровича, который рассказал свой вариант исчезновения Ибрагима и его сестры из этого места. В официальной части программы Посол и представители местных властей обменялись приветственными речами и сувенирами, связанными с А.С.Пушкиным и его прадедом.

As a part of the celebration of the 225-th anniversary of the birth of Alexander Pushkin, staff of the Russian Embassy in Eritrea visited the village Adi Logo, 20 kilometres from the capital Asmara, where, according to Eritreans, Ibrahim (Abram) Hannibal, the great-grandfarther of the Russian poet, was born. Representatives of the local authorities showed the Russians the site of Ibrahim's family home, the ancient Sycamore tree, which is over 350 years old and which Eritreans claim belonged to Hannibal's family. The oldest descendant of Abram Petrovich was introduced to the Russian Ambassador Igor Mozgo. The old man told Ambassador his version of dissappearance of Ibrahim and his sister from the village. In the official part of the program, the Ambassador and representatives of local authorities exchanged welcoming speaches and souvenirs related to Alexander Pushkin and his grear-grandfather.

В офисе НФДС состоялась встреча российских представителей с руководителем политического отдела партии Йемане Гебреабом. Стороны обсудили возможности межпартийного сотрудничества. Кроме того, эритрейской стороне были переданы материалы о состоявшейся в Москве международной межпартийной конференции по борьбе с современными практиками неоколониализма. Й.Гебреаб был проинформирован о создании всемирного движения - Форум "За Свободу Наций".

A reception in commemoration of the 79-th anniversary of the Victoty in the Great Patriotic war was orginized on the Russian Ambassador's residence in Asmara on May 9, 2024. The reception was attended by the advisors of the Eritrean President, ministers, representatives of public organizations and Russian compatriots. The guests were shown a performance based on the poem " Wait for Me", a field kitchen was deployed, and front-line soldiers 100 grams were offered.
