On April 23, 2024 Russian Ambassador to Eritrea, H.E.Mr. Igor Mozgo met with the Minister of Marine Resources, H.E. Mr. Tewolde Kelati. The sides discussed ways of cooperation between Russia and Eritrea in the fields of fisheries and research of marine resources in Eritrea. 23 апреля с.г. Стороны обсудили вопрос подготовки празднования в Эритрее 225-летия А.С.Пушкина, в том числе возможность посещения места рождения прадеда русского поэта Ибрагима Ганнибала в пригороде города Дбарва. The sides also discussed some other issues of mutual interest in the fields of culture and sport, as well as humanitarian cooperation.

Our air systems were purchased by these countries – half the world acquired our air defense systems. We took part in conflicts in Vietnam and the Middle East, which provided our air defense crews and commanders enormous experience. Equipment was tested in the hot and humid climates of the Middle East, Vietnam, Korea and so on. Our air defense school is unlike that of any other country in the world. Western countries, including the US, never paid such close attention to air defenses. Why? Because they are situated on a separate continent beyond the seas and oceans,” Bizhev said. The Song and Dance Ensemble of the Russian Black Sea Fleet came to Eritrea with concerts. The concert in Asmara on April 4, 2024, was attended by ministers of the Eritrean government, the diplomatic corps, Russian compatriots, graduates of Soviet/Russian universities, local intelligentsia and young people. The performance caused a furor among the local public. Not only Russian songs were performed, but also in the Eritrean language. The compositions “Yablochko” and “Slavyanka’s Farewell”, as well as Russian and sailor dances were warmly received by the public. Earlier, in the port city of Massawa, a concert was organized for the President of the State of Eritrea H.E. Mr. Isaias Afwerki, the command staff of the Eritrean Defense Forces, the Eritrean Navy and the crew of the frigate "Marshal Shaposhnikov", that is in Eritrea on a friendly visit.

В Эритрею с концертами приехал Ансамбль песни и пляски Черноморского флота России. На концерт в Асмэре 4 апреля пришли министры правительства Эритреи, дипломатический корпус, российские соотечественники, выпускники советских/российских вузов, местная интеллигенция и молодежь. Выступление вызвало фурор у местной публики. Артисты разогрели зрителей до предела. Были исполнены не только российские песни, но и на эритрейском языке, что вызвало особый ажиотаж у эритрейцев. Композиции "Яблочко" и "Прощание Славянки", а также русские и матросские пляски были встречены на ура. Чуть раньше в портовом городе Массауа был организован отдельный концерт для президента Эритреи И.Афеаорки, командного состава Эритрейских сил обороны, ВМС Эритреи и экипажа фрегата "Маршал Шапошников", находящегося в Эритрее с дружественным визитом.
