📉Facebook Employees are NOT as Happy with Mark Zuckerberg as They Used to Be #Facebook employees have long been known for their fierce loyalty to the company and its founder Mark Zuckerberg. In the aftermath of numerous privacy debacles, including ones in which Facebook has exposed users’ personal information and facilitated attempts to undermine American democracy, that enthusiasm seems to have flagged. The Facebook CEO saw his ranking among top US CEOs plummet this year, from No. 16 in 2018 to No. 55 this year, though he does have an approval rating of 94 percent, according to new data from Glassdoor, a site where employees can anonymously rate their jobs and their CEOs. 📱Top Social Networking Apps Worldwide by Downloads May 2019 The most downloaded social networking app worldwide for May 2019 was #Facebook with more than 60.6 million installs. ​​💰Libra: Facebook confirms its cryptocurrency launching in 2020 #Libra is designed not to be a speculative asset, like #Bitcoin, but a form of digital money backed by a reserve of assets. The company has formed the nonprofit Libra Association with 27 other partners to oversee Libra and its development. The partnership includes venture capital firms, nonprofit organizations, #cryptocurrency firms, and massive corporate financial, telecommunications, and technology service providers, including #Coinbase, #Mastercard, #Visa, #eBay, #PayPal, #Stripe, #Spotify, #Uber, #Lyft, and #Vodafone. While the Libra Association will have members based globally, it will be headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland🇨🇭 Facebook has a business incentive to build on top of the Libra #blockchain, and it’s launching its own subsidiary to do just that called #Calibra (see the GIF below - Credit: Facebook). ​​📱Email & Mobile Notifications in Driving Loyalty Generating more direct traffic to websites and apps is an important priority for publishers, with #email#newsletters a particularly favoured tactic for retaining subscribers but also for attracting new users. The Washington Post operates around 70 different newsletters & has found that recipients consume around three times as much content as those who don’t use email news. RI’s own data this year show that 42% of US digital subscribers have used one or more email newsletters in the last week compared with 35% in the UK but just 17% in Norway and 19% in Sweden. 📲Top Non-Game Apps Worldwide for May 2019 by Downloads The most downloaded non-game app worldwide for May 2019 was #WhatsApp with more than 64.7 million installs. #FacebookMessenger was the second most installed non-game app worldwide last month with more than 60.7 million downloads. #Facebook, #TikTok, and #Snapchat made up the rest of the top five most installed non-game apps last month. Snapchat’s dramatic ranking increase in May came as the result of a popular new gender swap filter added mid-month. The app’s first-time installs increased 2.5x month-over-month from 16.8 million in April to 41.5 million last month, bringing it into the top 10 for overall downloads at No. 5 and making it the most downloaded app on the App Store.
