‘There are six things humans need on this planet: they need water, they need comfortable shelter that doesn’t use fossil fuels, they need electricity, and they need to treat their sewage in some way. An Earthship is a vessel, a machine that provides all of these things’; that’s what Michael Reynolds said about the ‘Earthship’ he founded. It’s a type of solar-powered home made of natural and recycled materials. People who live in eco-friendly dwellings suggest Earthships are the way of the future. Why? Watch our video to learn about it from an interview with one of the Earthship architects. Its entire story is the film Green Citadels. #USA Follow: https://t.me/rtdocumentary

'$5 gas. No baby formula. Record crime. Record inflation. Border crisis. And what’s Congress doing today? Holding a hearing on UFOs!’ this tweet was written by an American politician Jim Jordan. Due to sanctions against Russia fuel prices are increasing in the U.S. The United States Oil and Gas Association called the rising petrol prices ‘the greatest energy crisis in the last 50 years’. The price of baby food has also risen. Many supermarkets don't have any. Experts estimate there’s a 40% production shortfall. While the government is trying to solve the problem, American women are selling breast milk. How have the sanctions affected Russia? In some areas of business, the restrictions can be beneficial. See the RT Documentary feed Sanctions: Opportunity in Disguise. #photo#USA Follow: https://t.me/rtdocumentary

#video#USA Texas would be the world's 40th largest country if it was still an independent state. Yes, still. For a nine-year period between 1836 and 1845, Texas was an independent country. But some Texans, or Texians as they call themselves, claim their country never lost its sovereignty. These separatists believe the United States’ annexation of Texas was illegal. The activists run their own government and have their own currency system. Watch the full documentary on our website RTDocumentary.online or Odysee. Follow: https://t.me/rtdocumentary

#video#USA Kenny Richey spent 21 and a half years waiting for the electric chair on death row. He was convicted of the murder by arson of a 2-year-old girl. Richey survived 13 execution dates, with one reprieve coming just an hour before his scheduled execution. He always maintained his innocence, and many human rights campaigners drew attention to Kenny’s case. Some of the evidence in the investigation was eventually proven to be false, and Richey was released after accepting a plea deal. However, not everyone was convinced of his innocence on Kenny’s release. His wife Karen claims the ex-con confessed to her he committed the crime. #video#USA The debate over gun control in the United States is sparked time and again after each mass shooting, but in the end, a solution is never reached. For some, guns will always be a threat no matter what they are used for, while others are convinced the only way to teach gun safety is being around a gun. However, government attempts to restrict gun possession are viewed as clamping down on fundamental rights. How can the government control a feature of American life that has historically kept that very government in check? And what lessons can be learned to prevent future tragedies from happening? #photo#USA A surprisingly warm welcome and no aggression whatsoever.’ Our documentary, Eden for the Homeless, was shown in a movie theatre in Springfield, Missouri. Some 80 people came to watch the documentary about a local community for the long-term homeless. Called Eden Village, it provides permanent housing for homeless people with disabilities and gives them a chance to start anew. After the screening, RT Documentary’s director talked to the audience. It was ‘a surprisingly warm welcome and no aggression whatsoever,’ he says. ‘There were a few moments when emotions were overflowing, and tears came to eyes. A huge thank you to those who organised the event and everyone who showed up.’ After the documentary premiered on our YouTube channel, Eden Village received numerous letters from people from around the world asking how they could help their community. #video#USA In the run-up to the 2020 presidential election in the USA, protests featuring armed activists rocked the USA. This led to an unprecedented level of civil unrest, with heavily armed groups roaming the cities and threatening to use force to defend their political positions. Some of these belonged to the Bugaloo Boys, a group of activists committed to some kind of American ‘Revolution’. Mike Dunn was one of them. Why do you think the police helped Mike with his protest? #video#USA Windie Lazenko is a survivor of sex trafficking. As a teenage runaway, she was sold for sex. Now in her 50s, she advocates for victims across the US. When North Dakota’s oil boom led to the sudden influx of men and a huge demand for prostitutes, Windie travelled to the city of Williston. At some point, men outnumbered women by as many as 20 to one. Women couldn’t walk into a supermarket without being propositioned. Windie founded her organisation to help trafficking victims. This is a fragment of her interview from our documentary, Sex and the Oil City. She recalls her thorny path before she started helping other women. Follow: https://t.me/rtdocumentary
