Every ad has been cut. Every speech, delivered. Every poll, taken. And now we wait for the voters to decide. Welcome to Election Day 🗳️ Want to watch tonight like a pro? Check out our hour-by-hour guide. We’ve not only outlined all the big races, but also when to expect most of the votes will be counted and which states we expect to wait on for the full picture. Reminder: It will take days to count ballots — but the lack of same-day election results isn't evidence of interference or tampering. It has more to do with state laws limiting the preprocessing of mail ballots. No one has more riding on the outcome than President Biden. A Republican House could threaten his admin with subpoenas and routine bills may turn into high-stakes standoffs. Meanwhile a GOP Senate could hinder his ability to appoint judges, ambassadors and Cabinet officials.

Let’s chat Senate: The six “toss up” races we’re watching are in Wisconsin, Georgia, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Nevada and Arizona. Four of these seats are held by Dems and two by Republicans, so even if the two parties split all six seats evenly, Republicans would win control 51-49. As for the House: 216 seats are now “solid,” “likely,” or “lean Republican.” If that holds, the GOP would need only 2 of the 26 “Toss Up” House seats to win a majority. Learn more in our final Election Forecast updates. We’ll be back tomorrow with a guide on how to watch election week 🗳

Y’all, we got our hands on some exclusive polling in two of the hottest states: Arizona and Nevada 👀 The takeaway: Democratic Senate incumbents are in danger. Arizona’s Mark Kelly (D) holds a one-point lead over Blake Masters (R), 47% to 46%. Same with Nevada’s Catherine Cortez Masto (D), who only has one point on Adam Laxalt (R), 45% to 44%. The battle for the Senate majority continues to be a “Toss Up” — but the GOP could win 54 seats by sweeping the too-close-to-call races. Check out our latest forecast update on the 2022 midterms. Want to know how to watch Election Week like a pro? Tune in to our Twitter Space on Monday at noon ET. With President Biden’s poll numbers down, Democrats are turning to Obama to motivate the base. But what’s not clear: whether Obama’s star power is transferable to those he stumps for. Dems suffered heavy losses in both midterms of his presidency. BTW: A bunch of new polling numbers recently dropped about the swingiest Senate races. Our polling expert explains how to interpret them. We’ll be back with updates, so stay tuned. In the meantime, DM me here at @janjbyun with any questions you have about the midterms 📲

Barack Obama is back as energizer-in-chief. Election Day is coming fast (one more week!), so the former president spent the last few days hyping up vulnerable Democrats. Obama went to battleground states like Georgia to stump for gubernatorial nominee Stacey Abrams and Sen. Raphael Warnock. He popped up in Michigan to rally for Gov. Gretchen Whitmer. Then off he went to Wisconsin to pump up endangered Gov. Tony Evers and the Dem Senate nominee, Mandela Barnes (who’s trying to boot GOP Sen. Ron Johnson).

The country’s highest-stakes battle over abortion rights is unfolding here in Michigan, where voters will decide whether the state’s 1931 anti-abortion law remains on the books.

Let’s state the obvious: Democrat John Fetterman had a rough time at last night’s Pennsylvania Senate debate as he continues to recover from a stroke he had in May. Will it matter? Campaign debates are notoriously superficial, and casual voters might not have known that his speech struggles aren’t indicative of a deeper neurological issue. But Fetterman’s team is betting they can attack something his opponent Mehmet Oz said on stage — that abortion should be left up to “women, doctors, local political leaders.” In the Michigan governor’s debate, abortion was also a hot topic. Democratic incumbent Gretchen Whitmer criticized Republican Tudor Dixon for supporting a near-total ban on abortion.

The next big debate to watch is tonight at 8 p.m. EST when Pennsylvania Senate nominee John Fetterman (D) dukes it out with Mehmet Oz (R). Fetterman still has the lead, but the race has tightened significantly — and now Republicans think victory is within reach. There are also a bunch of other key debates happening tonight (NY gov, MI gov, CO Senate), so we’ll be back tomorrow with anything important you should know.
