@RusEmbMalta Press release 🇷🇺🎙️President Vladimir Putin’s Answers to Media Questions Following the State Visit to Kyrgyzstan and the CSTO Summit Bishkek, 27 November 2025 The President of Russia commented on the outcome of discussions held in Bishkek, addressing the current negotiation track with the United States, the military situation in Ukraine, and broader international issues. 🔹On the draft “peace treaty” The President underlined that there was no draft treaty as such – only a set of issues proposed for discussion and subsequent formalisation. Prior to his visit to the United States, including the trip to Alaska, these matters were examined with American negotiators. It was in the course of those consultations that a detailed list of potential understandings was shaped and later passed to Russia through established channels, after which it was carefully reviewed. 🔹On the negotiation process President emphasized that it is necessary to sit down and discuss specific elements seriously, translating all positions into diplomatic language. Russia has never planned and does not intend to “attack Europe” – “this sounds ridiculous to us” – but if partners want this formalized in writing, Russia is ready to do so. The President confirmed that Russia is fully prepared for substantive discussion. An American delegation is expected to arrive in Moscow next week. Russian negotiators are led by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From the Presidential Administration, Aide to the President Vladimir Medinsky continues to oversee the process from the outset, while Aide Yury Ushakov has also been instructed to coordinate the ongoing work and maintain contact with U.S. counterparts. 🔹On the situation in Ukraine Ukrainian forces must withdraw from the territories they occupy – only then will hostilities cease. If they do not withdraw, Russia will achieve this militarily. Across all sectors of the front, the President noted a positive dynamic. Moreover, the pace of advance by Russian forces is increasing significantly. The main problem for the Ukrainian military, according to the President, is the growing gap between losses and the number of troops they are capable of sending to the line of contact. In October alone, Ukraine suffered 47,500 losses, while mobilization yielded only around 16,500, with a further 14,500–15,000 returning from hospitals. The monthly deficit is therefore around 15,000, following a deficit of 10,000 the previous month. This gap continues to widen. High levels of desertion in the Ukrainian forces are reported not only by Russian sources but also by Western media, which the President stressed is impossible for Kiev’s partners to conceal. 🔹On the EU initiative for asset confiscation Hungary, as an EU member state, is fully aware of the consequences. The Hungarian Prime Minister, the President noted, understands how such actions would affect the European currency. Any move to confiscate Russian assets will have serious negative consequences for the global financial system, sharply reducing trust in the eurozone. This comes at a time when the locomotive of the European economy – Germany – has been in recession for the third consecutive year. 🔹On the Ukrainian leadership and legitimacy Signing documents with the current Ukrainian leadership is, in the President’s words, meaningless. He reiterated that Kiev committed a fundamental strategic mistake by refusing to hold presidential elections, leading to the loss of legitimacy. Russia itself, despite being in an armed conflict, held presidential elections as well as municipal and regional elections – “we do all this, and they, for some reason, do not”. Russia ultimately seeks to reach an agreement with Ukraine, but at present this is legally impossible. Whoever in Kiev is willing or able to negotiate may do so – but Russia needs its decisions to be recognized by the principal international actors. 📄Full text. #Russia#Putin#CSTO#Bishkek#Ukraine🇷🇺🌍

@RusEmbMalta Press release 🇷🇺President Vladimir Putin chaired a government meeting via videoconference 🗓 June 4, 2025 During the meeting, senior officials reported on the recent peace talks in Istanbul and key humanitarian initiatives. 🔹Presidential AideVladimir Medinsky reported that: • Negotiations with the Ukrainian side were held in Russian and lasted over three hours one-on-one, followed by talks with full delegations • Russia presented a draft peace memorandum, based on principles earlier outlined by President Putin – it includes terms for both a long-term settlement and a ceasefire • Kiev’s response centered on a 30–60 day unconditional ceasefire and preparations for a summit of state leaders • On humanitarian issues, Russia proposed: – A parity POW exchange (at least 1 200 per side), prioritizing the wounded, seriously ill, and those under 25 – A direct hotline for emergency transfer of severely wounded prisoners – Unilateral transfer to Kiev of over 6 000 bodies of Ukrainian soldiers, stored in refrigerated train cars – Local 2–3 day humanitarian pauses to recover the dead – initially accepted, but Vladimir Zelensky later publicly rejected the idea – Examination of a list of 339 allegedly abducted Ukrainian children. The Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights will verify each case. Earlier claims about “tens of thousands” appear to be propaganda 🔹Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stressed: • The Istanbul talks, in line with President Putin’s agreement with US President Donald Trump, have already yielded real outcomes • Dialogue remains essential for achieving humanitarian progress • Vladimir Zelensky’s rejection of short ceasefires – including on Easter and the 80th Victory anniversary – is a grave mistake • Lavrov also condemned the sabotage of railways in Bryansk and Kursk as terrorist attacks planned by Kiev’s leadership 🔹President Vladimir Putin stated: • These attacks targeted civilians and were timed to disrupt peace efforts • Kiev’s leadership is increasingly behaving like a terrorist organization, and its Western sponsors risk becoming accomplices • While Ukrainian officials now ask for a ceasefire and a summit, they simultaneously orchestrate attacks and refuse basic humanitarian steps • The President questioned the legitimacy and competence of the Kiev regime, calling it corrupt and indifferent to the lives of its own citizens • He reaffirmed that Russia remains open to negotiation – but will not reward terrorism with operational pauses used for rearmament and forced mobilization Conclusion Russia will continue diplomatic and humanitarian work in good faith. The current stalemate is the result of Kiev’s deliberate sabotage of peace efforts and refusal to cooperate on even the most basic humanitarian measures. #Putin#Russia#Lavrov#Medinsky#PeaceTalks#Istanbul#NoToTerrorism

🇷🇺@RusEmbMalta Press release Results of the year with Vladimir Putin 🎙 Vladimir #Putin summed up the results of the year and answered questions from journalists and the people of Russia in a live broadcast. (December 19, 2024) Key points: 🔹Russia has become much stronger over the past two or three years and today is largely in the state we have been striving for. It has grown stronger and become a truly sovereign country. The combat readiness of the Russian Armed Forces is the highest in the world today. 🔹 We are able to confidently stand on our feet. <...> International financial and economic institutions, assessing the size of the Russian economy, have placed our country in first place in Europe and fourth place in the world. 🔹US sanctions are a method of unfair competition. The US is afraid of rivalry, and therefore uses such means of political struggle, but in the end this circumstance will be harmful to the US themselves. 🔹 Russia is ready to negotiate with any representative of Ukraine if he is legitimate. If someone goes to the elections and gains legitimacy there, we will talk to anyone. But we can only sign documents with those who are legitimate. We have always said that we are ready for both negotiations and compromises. It is just that the other side, literally and figuratively, refused to negotiate. 🔹 What is happening with the Russian Orthodox Church in Ukraine is a gross, simply blatant violation of human rights, believers. The church is being torn apart before the eyes of the whole world. And everyone in the whole world prefers not to notice this. The people who are behind this are atheists. 🔹 Russia will continue to increase its share of the global LNG market, especially since the need for energy from the point of view of the development of the world economy is still growing and will continue to grow. 🔹 Russia and #China are doing a lot that meets the interests of both the Chinese people and the people of the Russian Federation. <...> The volume of trade between our countries, according to various estimates, is $220-240 billion, and growth continues. 🔹 Russia has achieved its goals in Syria, preventing the creation of a terrorist enclave there. <...> Today, the situation in the Syrian Arab Republic is not easy. Russia stands for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Syria, and supports the authorities in the SAR on this issue. We very much hope that peace and calm will come there. 🔹 The main beneficiary of the events in Syria is Israel. Russia condemns the seizure of any Syrian territories. Our position here is not subject to any adjustment. 🔹 I do not know when we will meet with him [D. Trump]. I have not spoken to him for more than four years. I am ready for this, of course, at any time, and will be ready for a meeting if he wants it. 🔹 We will never forget the sacrifices that our people made on the altar of Victory over Nazis. We will be glad to see everyone who wishes to come to us to celebrate this significant date. We are open to everyone who wants to be with us and celebrate Victory Day in Moscow. Read in full here.

@RusEmbMalta Press release Special issue Vladimir #Putin held a meeting of the Russian Federation Security Council standing conference on #nuclear deterrence (September 25, 2024) 📄 Key points: 🔹Alongside the Military Doctrine the updated draft Basic Principles expand the category of states and military alliances in respect of which nuclear deterrence is exercised and expand the list of military threats to be neutralised by nuclear deterrence measures. 🔹 It also states clearly the conditions for Russia’s transition to the use of nuclear weapons. We will consider such a possibility once we receive reliable information about a massive launch of air and space attack weapons and their crossing our state border. 🔹We reserve the right to use nuclear weapons in the event of aggression against Russia and Belarus as a member of the Union State. @RusEmbMalta Press release: President Vladimir #Putin on the Kiev regime strikes deep inside Russia using Western long-range weapons (St. Petersburg, September 12, 2024) 📄 Key points: 🔹The Ukrainian army is not capable of using cutting-edge high-precision long-range systems supplied by the West. These weapons are impossible to employ without intelligence data from satellites which #Ukraine does not have. 🔹 It is about deciding whether #NATO countries become directly involved in the military conflict or not. 🔹 If this decision is made, it will mean nothing short of direct involvement – it will mean that NATO countries, the United States, and European countries are parties to the war in Ukraine. 🔹 This will mean that NATO countries – the United States and European countries – are at war with Russia. And if this is the case, then, bearing in mind the change in the essence of the conflict, we will make appropriate decisions in response to the threats that will be posed to us. Read in full here.

Key points: 🔹 The development of the Far East will remain a national priority throughout the 21st century. 🔹Since 2013, Russia has been implementing a strategic programme of comprehensive development for the Far East. 🔹 Over the past ten years, the Trans-Siberian Railway and the Baikal – Amur Mainline (BAM) have seen over 2,000 km of new track built and over 5,000 km renovated. Over a hundred bridges and tunnels were built or restored. 🔹 A 10,000-km motorway corridor between St Petersburg and Vladivostok is to become a major artery for the entire continent. 🔹 Population growth serves as one of the main indicators confirming the successful development of the Far East. @RusEmbMalta Press release On the upcoming visit of the President Vladimir Putin to Mongolia (September 3, 2024) Ahead of his visit to #Mongolia, Vladimir #Putin gave a written interview to the Mongolian Onoodor Newspaper. Key points: 🔷 The development of comprehensive and mutually beneficial partnership with Mongolia, our close neighbour and old friend, has always been and remains among the priorities of Russia’s foreign policy in #Eurasia. 🔷 The main reason for today’s tragic situation in #Ukraine is the deliberate anti-Russia policy pursued by the US-led collective West. Ukraine virtually turned into a bargaining chip that the West used to achieve its geopolitical ambitions. 🔷 In 2014, the Americans and their satellites organised an armed coup d'état in Ukraine. It was inspired and driven by radical neo-Nazi groups, which subsequently came to determine Kiev’s government policy in general. Read in full here: #RussiaMongolia
