Nigeria Independence Celebration They said "call it the joyful day" But why not instead the starry night? With the few well fed stars That glowed in peace And the gloomy smoke Which was filled with cries - As eyes of the masses Melted in sorrow, Their stomachs grumbled of hunger And had their hearts Encaged with terror - Shouldn't it be the night of mourning? Where leaders express Regrets Over their failures. #review#AhmadMusa#poem

Money!!! When do we take their handshakes And when should we flee? From them that look harmless Like smiling little babes. With their charming appearance That can easily attract the heart And cause it to walk out To leave its owner behind. Unless we feel too poor To dread any thief but a snatcher of life Then we can't just shake anyone If our good characters still matters to us. #review#AhmadMusa#poem

When you have no fear To shout at the top of your voice When you have no fear To leave a trace on the path you walk Because you have the feeling That nobody will come to look for you Because you have the feeling That no one will care to listen to you And you feel your passage Not causing any change in those around The feeling of being a ghost Deepens, you feel like not being part of the world You feel like you alone Are able, to feel that you exist Then later you realize That lonelines has always been there for you Your friendship strengthens And later you begin to hate the world #AhmadMusa#poem#review

Armed Forces They are our brothers and sisters Who gave up their freedom So that ours can grow They are our fathers and mothers Who left their homes So that families can live They are our friends, our fellow humans Who sacrificed their souls To wall and limit the blasts Which could have consumed us all. They witness the souls of their comrades Dimming, until only a corpse is left They see the bodies of their companions Shattering, until no bone to entomb Yet except for the bright uniform hanging Behind them, their melting front Remains hidden from us #poem#review#AhmadMusa

Our speech is not understood By those who rule. Like creatures in a zoo But here, predators can roam We keep yelling for help Yet raised grounds continue to grow Some killed by thirst, hunger and Some by the humanoid beasts. Are we still humans to them Or is it our fantasy? Or is it our screams that isn't enough To gain their attention. #review #poem #AhmadMusa

What's below luxurious life So dreadful? That its thought could char Even the wet heart. And make it willing to raise floors Through burying its fellows. #poem#review#AhmadMusa

Sighs How many starved and became bones to make the wall this hard How many aged and turned drooped to keep the roof this high How many died and were buried for the floor to be this wide #AhmadMusa#review#poem

It's summer in the north Yet the land is muddy, From tears of sorrow Raining season had left for long Yet the sky isn't silent The screams are deafening Fear, despair and grief Has petrified people Into walking clouds O Lord, we admit our sins Grace us with peace You are the Oft-Forgiving #poem#review#AhmadMusa
