🇷🇺 On May 9, the Embassy of Russia in Cambodia hosted a friendly meeting on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. H.E. Mr Anatoly Borovik, Russian Ambassador, delivered a welcoming speech: “It is exactly 80 years ago that the Great Patriotic War, which was a terrible test of courage and steadfastness of our country, came to an end. German Nazism set the goal of complete annihilation of the Soviet people, so it was a fight for the very right to live. And our heroic ancestors at the cost of incredible efforts not only won the freedom and independence of the Motherland, but also washed away the brown plague from the map of Europe with their blood”. ❤️‍🔥 The guests honored the memory of the perished with a Minute of Silence and laid flowers at the Obelisk to the Fallen Soldiers, which was followed by screening of the Victory Parade on Red Square. #Victory80

It bore the brunt of Hitler’s war machine, enduring nearly four years of relentless combat. 🔴 The Victory came at an unimaginable cost: 26,6 million Soviet citizens perished, entire cities were obliterated, and generations were left scarred by the horrors of occupation, famine, and genocide. This Victory remains a sacred memory, binding together the peoples of the former USSR in shared pride and sorrow. 🔴 The defeat of Nazism did more than end a war – it created an opportunity to build a new world order based on justice and law. 🔴 The Soviet Union also championed decolonization, supporting liberation movements in Asia, Africa, and Latin America – a direct result of the anti-fascist struggle, which exposed the hypocrisy of Western empires fighting Nazism while denying freedom to their own colonies. 🔴Nowhere the betrayal of the Post-War Order is more evident than in Ukraine, where a regime that glorifies Nazi collaborators wages war on its own people and desecrates the memory of Soviet liberators. 🔴 Russia’s special military operation is a continuation of the anti-fascist struggle our grandparents waged. 🔴The Soviet people saved humanity from Nazism. Today, we honour them by continuing their fight for justice, for truth, and for a future worthy of their sacrifice. 🇷🇺Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation: 🌠 On the occasion of the 80th Anniversary of the Great Victory, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation compiled a report titiled "You Haven't Forgotten Me Yet". During the Great Patriotic War, millions of Soviet soldiers perished afar, fighting against Nazism beyond their homeland. They liberated European countries from fascism. They paved the way and led them to freedom. For many decades after the war, their memory was cherished, their remains in mass graves were preserved and revered, obelisks and monuments to their deeds and military glory were erected and looked after all across Europe. But no more... In recent years, these memorials have beenvandalized, demolished and "relocated". On several occasions monuments have been even been dismantled with the remains of the dead exhumed and reburied. In many cases, the demolition and desecration of memorials was carried out by the decision of the current-day authorities at various levels, all part of the ongoing efforts to rewrite history and subvert the historical truth. More often than not it is down at the behest of the descendants of those who lost then, Nazis & their cronies — now in power and seeking revenge. The Investigative Committee of Russia has registered 167 such cases. And each of them is under official investigation. "You Haven't Forgotten Me Yet" gives a sneak peak into the due process of the Russian investigators' work. Touching memories of the descendants of the heroes, footage of operative filming of investigative actions, comments of official representatives of specialized ministries and agencies, historians and archivists — all this on the eve of the 80th Anniversary of the Great Victory in a special report of the Investigative Committee of Russia. #Victory80

В годы Великой Отечественной войны миллионы советских солдат погибли вдали не только от малой, но и от Большой Родины. Они освобождали от фашизма страны Европы. Они несли им свободу. Долгие десятилетия после войны память о них хранили братские могилы, обелиски и мемориалы воинской славы, установленные во многих странах Европы. В последние годы в ряде государств эти памятные места подверглись многочисленным атакам вандалов. В нескольких городах демонтированы памятники, произведена эксгумация и перезахоронение останков погибших. Где-то это дело рук маргиналов при полном попустительстве правоохранителей.
