⚓️ On April 6, 2026, a detachment of the Pacific Fleet of the Russian Navy comprising the two corvettes, “Sovershenny” and “Rezky”, entered the Sihanoukville Autonomous Port to pay an unofficial three-day visit. Representatives of the Ministry of National Defense of the Kingdom welcomed the ships at the pier. H.E. Mr Anatoly Borovik, Russian Ambassador to Cambodia, participated in a solemn greeting ceremony on board the corvette “Sovershenny”. “Taking this opportunity, I would like to express my gratitude to all officers, warrant officers, petty officers and sailors for their commitment to the important mission of ensuring the security of the Russian Federation and protecting its interests. I hope that all of you will demonstrate the best qualities inherent in Russian naval personnel, being capable of tackling complex tasks under any circumstances and serving as role models. It is necessary to do everything possible to ensure that the St Andrew’s flag always flies proudly across the vast expanse of the World Ocean,” stated the head of the diplomatic mission in his remarks. 🇷🇺🇰🇭 The command of the detachment paid protocol visits to civil and military officials of the Kingdom, Russian sailors explored the sights of Sihanoukville and played a football match with their Cambodian colleagues. Officials from of the Ministry of National Defense and servicemen of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, as well as students and teachers of the Russian Embassy School went on a tour of Russian warships. The port-call was crowned by a reception aboard the corvette "Rezky" that took place on April 7. H.E. Mr Anatoly Borovik and his Spouse, H.E. General Tea Seiha, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defense of the Kingdom, H.E. Captain 1st rank Andrey Gaevoy, Commander of the detachment, H.E. Mr Meas Kim Heng, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom, and other dignitaries attended the solemn event. On April 8, the corvettes departed from the port to continue their expedition. #RussiaCambodia

Для сотрудников Миннацобороны и военнослужащих Королевских вооружённых сил, а также для учащихся и преподавателей школы при Посольстве были организованы экскурсии на российские военные корабли. Пребывание отряда завершилось приёмом на борту корвета «Резкий» 7 апреля. В торжественном мероприятии приняли участие А.В.Боровик с супругой, Заместитель Премьер-министра, Министр национальной обороны Камбоджи генерал Теа Сейха, командир отряда капитан 1-го ранга А.А.Гаевой, государственный секретарь Министерства иностранных дел и международного сотрудничества Королевства Меас Кимхенг, а также другие высокопоставленные лица. 8 апреля корветы покинули порт Сиануквиля и продолжили свой поход. #РоссияКамбоджа

⚡️By decision of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, a ceasefire has been declared ahead of the Orthodox Easter – from 4:00 p.m. on April 11 until the end of April 12, 2026. The Minister of Defence of the Russian Federation Andrey Belousov and the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation – Commander of the Joint Grouping of Forces – Army General Valery Gerasimov have been instructed to halt combat operations in all areas for this period. 👉Russian troops are to remain ready to repel any possible provocations by the enemy, as well as any aggressive actions on its part. We proceed from the assumption that the Ukrainian side will follow Russia’s example.

⚡️Russian Foreign Ministry's statement on the outcome of the UN Security Council’s consideration of the situation in the Persian Gulf(April 8, 2026) On April 7, the UN Security Council voted on a draft resolution on ensuring the security of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and the adjacent waters, prepared by Bahrain with the participation of Jordan, Qatar, Kuwait, the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Eleven members of the Security Council voted in favour, while two countries – Colombia and Pakistan – abstained. ❌Russia and China voted against. As a result, the document was not adopted. In recent days, through various channels, including during contacts between Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his Arab counterparts, efforts were made to convince our friends not to rush the vote on a draft that could have undermined peace efforts aimed at resolving the situation in the Persian Gulf. 🎙Explanation of vote by Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN Vassily Nebenzia Thanks to the sound position adopted by the UN Security Council at the insistence of Russia and China, the necessary conditions were secured for reaching understandings on a ceasefire and launching a negotiating process. We are convinced that these should extend to all theatres of confrontation, including Lebanon. We welcome the creation of a proper atmosphere for a political and diplomatic process. We understand that its outcome is not predetermined. Russia, together with all reasonable members of the international community, will actively contribute to achieving practical results in favour of the earliest possible restoration of peace in the Persian Gulf and across the Middle East. At the same UN Security Council meeting on April 7, Russian representatives announced their intention, with the support of their Chinese partners, to submit for the Council’s consideration an alternative draft resolution aimed at an immediate cessation of hostilities, support for the ongoing diplomatic efforts and peace initiatives. We hope that this balanced document will be supported by all members of the Security Council. ☝️Russia stands for the freedom of maritime navigation everywhere, not only in the Strait of Hormuz and the adjacent waters, but throughout the World Ocean. It is essential to preclude attacks on the commercial fleet of all countries, and to open corridors for Cuba and Venezuela. This problem must be resolved comprehensively and in cooperation with all countries concerned. We appreciate the position of the Arab countries, which have become hostage to the situation created by the US and Israel. 👉However, we are convinced that without ending the unprovoked aggression against Iran and without taking Tehran’s views into account, the problem of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz cannot be resolved.

The speed of change is so high that even the boldest forecasts often materialise in real time. President Vladimir Putin said at the Plenary Session of the 22nd annual meeting of the Valdai International Discussion Club in October 2025 that “multipolarity has in fact already emerged”. The pillars of a polycentric world are already in place, but the structure itself remains flexible. There are several independent centres where systemically significant decisions are made. The most important of these are the US, China and Russia. India is developing its overall capacity. Brazil, Indonesia, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia and several other major countries are strengthening their international standing, and their influence is acquiring a transregional scope. Continental Europe has placed its bets on fighting Russia, and as a result, it is losing its chance to be independent in global affairs. A multipolar world is rising from the old system, often on its ruins. The fundamentals of international relations are being put to the test. Those that fail to meet the requirements of the new age are mercilessly cast aside. There are serious grounds to assume that not all of the “poles” mentioned above will weather the nascent geopolitical storm, and that new centres of power and influence will emerge as a result. The new element at this stage is that all “living” civilisations have moved to the centre of world politics for the first time. The “new rules” are being shaped “on the ground” by a large number of widely different players. As President Putin forecast at a meeting of the Valdai Club, “we will not see a clash of ideologies or states due to ideological differences but rather a clash of states and coalescence based on civilisational features.” Other key points: • The multipolar world order that is taking shape right before our eyes is being rejected by countries accustomed to thinking in terms of global dominance and neocolonialism, and they are making deliberate attempts to contain their geopolitical competitors and limit their growth opportunities by pushing them out of global and regional markets and exerting pressure on them. • Such behaviour has become systemic and echoes in developments across the world, including Southeast Asia. We can see how certain external forces are now trying to reshape the region to serve their own interests, with the aim of weakening China and sideline Russia. • Russia remains a reliable friend to the countries of Southeast Asia. Our relations are unburdened by either a colonial past or long-standing disagreements. Our country is seen not only as a centre of power, but also as a time-tested guarantor of security. • Direct contacts with influential regional organisations are expanding. Relations have been established with the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, theEurasian Economic Union, and theGulf Cooperation Council. ASEAN places great emphasis on strengthening ties with #BRICS. • Southeast Asia not only exists on the geopolitical map but is actively asserting itself as a promisingcentre of a multipolar world, a region raising its voice in global affairs. #RussiaASEAN

🎉 On March 28, the Opening Ceremony of the Days of Russian Culture in Cambodia was held at the Chaktomuk Conference Hall. 🇷🇺🇰🇭 In his welcoming remarks, H.E. Mr Anatoly Borovik, Ambassador, noted the special significance of the event in the year marking the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Cambodia. “This is an important milestone, reflecting a long path of mutual respect and trust. We highly value the traditionally warm and constructive nature of the Russian-Cambodian dialogue, which is developing steadily in political, economic, educational and humanitarian spheres,” added the head of the diplomatic mission. H.E. Mrs. Phoeurng Sackona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts of the Kingdom, emphasized the enduring friendship between Cambodia and Russia dating back to the Soviet era, as evidenced by holding the Days of Russian Culture. 🎶 The highlight of the event was a performance by the State Academic Omsk Russian Folk Choir, which presented their program ‘Heirs of Siberia’ to the audience.
