Сердечно поздравляю с Днём защитника Отечества наших дорогих ветеранов, личный состав и гражданский персонал Вооружённых Сил России – всех, кто получил суровую боевую, воинскую закалку, прошёл через трудные испытания. Особые слова поздравления нашим солдатам и офицерам – участникам специальной военной операции. Сегодня, рискуя жизнью и проявляя отвагу, они решительно отстаивают родную землю, национальные интересы и будущее России. Именно вы – главные герои Дня защитника Отечества, который отмечает вся наша страна. Этот праздник олицетворяет поистине всенародную любовь и уважение к нашей армии и флоту, к людям, для которых воинская стезя стала профессией и высоким призванием, ко всем, кто сделал сегодня свой выбор и встал на защиту Родины. Воинская служба всегда пользовалась у нас особым почётом, была и остаётся делом чести, а чувства патриотизма воспитаны самой нашей историей и передаются из поколения в поколение. Мы опираемся на вековые победные традиции российского воинства – на силу, веру и мужество предков: тех, кто сражался на Чудском озере и Куликовом поле, кто еще в XVI веке защищал Москву, одолел смуту и сберёг нашу государственность, кто торжествовал под Полтавой, стяжал себе славу в Бородинском сражении, отстаивал Севастополь в годы Крымской войны, проявлял отвагу в Галицийской битве и других сражениях Первой мировой, кто совершил грандиозный подвиг – разгромил нацизм, штурмовал Берлин и встретил там победный май 1945 года. Нынешний год 80-летия Великой Победы объявлен в России Годом защитника Отечества – во славу несокрушимого поколения победителей, во имя памяти об их героизме и жертвенности, об эпохальной Победе, которую они подарили миру, и в честь героев, которые сегодня на поле боя достойно продолжают ратное дело своих предков. Мы все понимаем, как вам трудно, гордимся и поддерживаем вас. Благодарю всех участников специальной военной операции за силу духа и решимость побеждать. Благодарю всех защитников России за честную, безупречную службу Родине и нашему народу. Уважаемые товарищи! Сегодня в условиях стремительных изменений в мире наш стратегический курс на укрепление и развитие Вооружённых Сил остаётся неизменным. Будем и дальше повышать боевые возможности армии и флота, их боеготовность как важнейшую составляющую обеспечения безопасности России, гарантию её суверенного настоящего и будущего, её поступательного развития. Среди безусловных приоритетов – обеспечение реальных потребностей войск, участвующих в специальной военной операции. С учётом анализа боевого применения оружия и техники продолжим насыщать Вооружённые Силы новыми, современными образцами. Серьёзное внимание будем уделять и повышению уровня социального обеспечения военнослужащих. Уверен, что воины России будут и впредь надёжно защищать свою родную страну и свой народ. 🗓 On this very day, 11 years ago, Kiev became ground zero for a Western-backed unconstitutional coup, that triggered all the events around Ukraine and its now former regions ever since. This led to an armed civil conflict, essentially a war waged by the Kiev regime against its own people, and a deepest crisis of international and European security since World War II. 11 years have passed since the tragic and horrible events of February 2014. The residing "authorities" in Kiev, aka the Kiev regime, and their Western sponsors are, as per their usual m.o., are attempting to distort the truth, conceal true facts, and turn the timeline of those events, their substance upside down. ❗️ The truth is stubborn; it tends to get revealed sooner or later, as recent events in the world have once again proven. LEARN MORE: On the origins of Ukrainian nationalism, the crimes of the OUN-UPA, and the support of the West The most horrific events unfolded on 20 February: the still unidentified snipers began shooting on the Institutskaya Street in the centre of Kiev at both law enforcement and protesters. Euromaidan supporters and Western politicians, seized "the opportunity", blamed the legitimate authorities of Ukraine. No evidence of Yanukovich's involvement was provided, and there is none to this day. Unlike, the Maidan activists & the opposition who benefited the most and was seen smuggling weapons into the area <...> On 21 February, in an attempt to avoid further bloodshed, Yanukovych signed an Agreement on the Settlement of the Political Crisis in Ukraine with the opposition (from the opposition's side — Vitali Klitschko (UDAR party), Arseniy Yatsenyuk ("Fatherland"), and Oleg Tyagnybok ("Freedom")), which was supported and guaranteed by the foreign ministers of Germany, France, and Poland. This document envisaged the creation of a government of national trust, constitutional reform, and the organization of early presidential elections. None of the Agreement's provisions were implemented. The next day, on February 22, the Supreme Council passed a resolution on Viktor Yanukovych's "self-removal" from performing the duties of the President of Ukraine, thereby usurping power (although he remained a legitimate president, remained in Ukraine and had made no statements regarding resignation). It was then announced that the "government of the victors (winner)" would be formed. The West turned a blind eye to all violations and hurried to declare a "change of power" in Ukraine, openly encouraging the putschists to pursue their anti-Russian policy. What ensued was basically a hunt for the remaining law enforcement officers and officials loyal to their oath and the country. The very next day, the very first decision of the new "government" through the Verkhovnaya Rada was to revoke the law on the status of the Russian language, which according to data was back then the mother tongue of the majority (!) of the Ukrainian citizens. <...> The "mediation" meddling of the West led to a sharp polarisation of Ukrainian society, which created the preconditions for an armed civil conflict. The first legislative steps of the "Maidan victors" — the abovementioned cancellation of the language law — were received with alarm in South-Eastern Ukraine, where spontaneous formation of popular militia forces began. Kiev immediately accused all the inhabitants of the region of "state treason" and "terrorism", threw the army and neo-Nazi punitive battalions to violently suppress the protests. <...> ❗️ "Euromaidan" created a deep rift in Ukrainian society, lead to persecution, fight against dissent, spread of nationalism and neo-Nazism, legal lawlessness and nihilism, fighting the Russian language and own history, complete degradation of the socio-economic situation in the country. The terror and horror brought by the Ukrainian neo-Nazis and nationalists in 2014 must be brought to an end. 🔈 On February 18, H.E. Mr Anatoly Borovik, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Kingdom of Cambodia, delivered a lecture "Russia's Strategy in the Asia-Pacific Region" for the students of the Royal University of Phnom Penh. The Ambassador presented the Russian vision of regional issues, specifying the contrast between the Asia-Pacific and Indo-Pacific approaches and highlighting the essence of the draft Eurasian Charter of Diversity and Multipolarity in the XXI century. “At the heart of the vision is the belief that the world is undergoing a fundamental transformation, shifting irreversibly towards multipolarity. This shift provides an opportunity to establish a fair, democratic, and inclusive world order, where no single power dominates, and all nations contribute to global stability and prosperity”, outlined the Ambassador. The lecture was followed by Q&A discussion on topics of interest to the audience, including Russian-Cambodian relations and the most pressing issues on the global agenda. Посол Российской Федерации в Королевстве Камбоджа А.В.Боровик выступил с лекцией на тему "Стратегия России в Азиатско-Тихоокеанском регионе" перед студентами Королевского университета Пномпеня. Посол изложил российское видение региональной проблематики, конкретизировав различие между Азиатско-Тихоокеанским и Индо-Тихоокеанским подходами и осветив суть проекта Евразийской хартии многообразия и многополярности в XXI веке. «В основе концепции лежит убеждение в том, что мир переживает фундаментальную трансформацию, необратимо двигаясь к многополярности. Этот сдвиг дает возможность построить справедливый, демократический и инклюзивный мировой порядок, в котором не будет места доминированию одной державы, а все страны будут вносить свой вклад в глобальную стабильность и процветание», – подчеркнул Посол. По окончании лекции в формате вопросов и ответов состоялось обсуждение интересующих аудиторию тем, включая российско-камбоджийские отношения и наиболее острые проблемы глобальной повестки. На мероприятии также присутствовали председатели Сената и Национальной Ассамблеи Хун Сен и Кхуон Судари, Премьер-министр Хун Манет, представители дипломатических миссий в стране пребывания и другие почётные гости.

🇷🇺🇺🇸Press release on Russia-US consultations(February 18, 2025) ⚡️ In accordance with the agreement between President Vladimir Putin and President Donald Trump to step up contacts to discuss international issues and bilateral agenda, on February 18, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Presidential Aide Yury Ushakov held talks in Riyadh with a US delegation represented by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, National Security Adviser Michael Waltz, and US Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff. The participants discussed a broad range of issues, including prospects for normalising bilateral relations. The sides agreed to appoint respective ambassadors as soon as possible, and to start consultations at the level of deputy foreign ministers to remove restrictions on activities of the diplomatic missions of the two countries. The Sides agreed to establish a dialogue to identify ways to resume cooperation in the economy, including energy, outer space exploration, and other areas of mutual interest. The Sides exchanged views on the situation surrounding Ukraine and reiterated their mutual commitment to settle the conflict. ❗️ The Russian side emphasised the importance of eliminating the root causes of the conflict, creating proper conditions for achieving a lasting and enduring peace, and ensuring security and legitimate interests of all countries in the region. An agreement was reached to continue joint work in this area through special envoys to be appointed in the near future. The Sides agreed to resume communication channels to discuss other international issues, being mindful of Russia and the United States’ special responsibility in matters of peace and security as nuclear powers and permanent members of the UN Security Council. The interest in continuing joint work to prepare the meeting between the Russian and American presidents was confirmed. During their stay in Riyadh, Sergey Lavrov and Yury Ushakov were received by Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Saudi Arabia Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud. They expressed gratitude for the excellent organisation of #RussiaUS talks. The participants discussed matters related to implementing the agreements on comprehensive expansion of bilateral relations reached by President Vladimir Putin and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

⚡️ On Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s telephone conversation with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio 🇷🇺🇺🇸📞 On February 15, at the initiative of the American Side, Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had a telephone conversation with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Building on the February 12 telephone conversation between the Presidents of Russia and the United States, the two Foreign Ministers agreed to maintain an open channel of communication to address longstanding issues in Russian-American relations. Their goal is to remove unilateral barriers inherited from the previous US administration that have hindered mutually beneficial trade, economic and investment cooperation. Both Sides expressed a shared commitment to engaging on key international issues, including the Ukraine settlement, developments in Palestine and the broader Middle East, as well as other regional matters. The conversation also covered ways to swiftly reverse the restrictions on Russian diplomatic missions in the United States, which were introduced by the Obama administration in 2016 and led to reciprocal measures. It was agreed that expert-level meetings will be organised in the near future to coordinate specific steps towards removing these obstacles to the functioning of diplomatic missions in Russia and the United States. ❗️ Sergey Lavrov and Marco Rubio reaffirmed their readiness to restore a respectful and constructive interstate dialogue in line with the approach set by the Presidents. They agreed to maintain regular contact, including discussions on preparations for a potential high-level Russian-American summit.

The series of events dedicated to the Diplomat's Day concluded with a gala concert at the Embassy Club. 🎤 Pupils of the School by the diplomatic mission prepared an exciting program, telling about the history of the Russian diplomatic service through poems, songs and dances. The audience listened to the messages of the President Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, as well as the address of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov. 🇷🇺🇺🇸📞 Russia's President Vladimir Putin and President of the United States of America Donald Trumphad a telephone conversation. The Leaders discussed issues related to the prisoner exchange between Russia and the United States. The US President assured the Russian President of the American side's commitment to fulfill all the agreements reached. The Leaders also discussed a possible Ukraine settlement. Donald Trump spoke in favour of stopping the hostilities as soon as possible and solving the crisis peacefully. In turn, Vladimir Putin pointed out it was necessary to eliminate the root causes of the conflict and agreed with Donald Trump in that a sustainable settlement could only be reached via peaceful negotiations. ❗️ Additionally, the Russian President expressed support for one of the US President's key arguments, which was that it's time for both countries to work together. The issues of Middle East settlement, Iran's nuclear programme, and bilateral economic relations between Russia and the United States were also brought up during the conversation. The Russian President invited the US President to visit Moscow and expressed willingness to receive visiting officials from the United States to discuss topics of mutual interest, including a possible Ukraine settlement. Presidents Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump agreed to maintain personal contact in the future, involving in particular in-person meetings.
